Tiny Wings
Yes yes, I know, everyone ELSE wants the english version, I need the japanese version of SonicStage 1.5, if anyone can please give me a url to where to download it or if you have it, I also have an FTP for you guys to upload to. Please help me out since a lot of my file names are in japanese, and it's just easier this way (non-import MZ-N10).
Tiny Wings
BTW, is it possible for the US Domestic to display Hiragana/Katakana/Kanji and/or Chinese Big 5 or does only the japanese one support it or do I just need to switch to a remote with 2 lines? Guest Anonymous
BTW, is it possible for the US Domestic to display Hiragana/Katakana/Kanji and/or Chinese Big 5 or does only the japanese one support it or do I just need to switch to a remote with 2 lines? You can display the simple Japanese characters on the main unit. The more advanced characters use the double-byte character set "Shift-JIS", which can be displayed on only on a special remote control (2 line). I currently do not remember the name of the "easy characters". You can check the screenshots of my app (in the signature). With my app you just need to install the Japanese/Chinese typing/font support under Windows, but this app is not freeware. For OpenMG and SonicStage I think you need to modify some registry keys and do some manual code page conversion. I hope this helps.
tmeg
...in the signature...sorry, forget to login  Here you see (in the single byte view) the characters that can be shown on the normal units as well. Tiny Wings
I tried your software, but for some reason it doesn't allow me to direct input the names in japanese, comes up as question marks (in single and multi)
tmeg
I tried your software, but for some reason it doesn't allow me to direct input the names in japanese, comes up as question marks (in single and multi)Which version of the application, and which OS do you use? Also make shure, that you installed the needed fonts and codepage tables by adding the chinese and japanese keyboard input to windows. Also try to type chinese/japanese e.g. in notepad. If that works, it should work in my app, too. Also remember, that in the double byte area not all chinese characters are supported. Only the ones that are needed for Japanese, the kanji and hiragana characters. In the single byte area you can only type katakana. I also hope you do not use Windows 9x. Tiny Wings
I was using the latest one that I downloaded from your website, I'm using Windows XP, and I can type japanese/chinese fine via the Japanese Input Method (not internet IME) in notepad. tmeg
Please download and install the latest version from my website; I just put the latest build online (V1.2.1284.32531). Even if the problem persists with this version on your system, you can enjoy one new command. You can copy a number of text-lines from anywhere and paste the text onto a number of tracks for re-titling them. As you use the same OS as me, I do not fully understand the problem you encounter. Perhaps it is still neccessary to modify the registry so that OpenMG uses the double byte area as well. But I thought until now, that this is not related. You could try to do this registry-modification: http://www.minidisct.com/forum/showthread....=&threadid=9650 or http://www.minidisct.com/forum/showthread....=&threadid=8855 If this fixes the problem, please write again. Thank you
Tiny Wings
Nope, didn't fix it, but I did get the japanese naming (half-sized katakana to work in single-byte in SonicStage) after using the registry.
tmeg
Nope, didn't fix it, but I did get the japanese naming (half-sized katakana to work in single-byte in SonicStage) after using the registry.I am very sorry, that this does not work on your system. As you see on the screenshots, this works very well for me. But I did not get the typing in OpenMG and SonicStage working, on my system in these apps only "?" appear after typing. I will need additional reports about this situation before I can understand and fix a possible bug in my app. Perhaps it has something to do with the keyboard settings you use. I would like to copy here some song titles I successfully typed in, but they do not appear after posting (only number codes). So you can not copy & paste them for testing. You could also check if you have installed code page support for the code pages 932 and 1252. These numbers are listed in the regional options in the third tab of the dialog. But I thing it might be a MD driver related problem.
Tiny Wings
I'm just wondering, are you using NJStar to do this, if so, this is probably why. 鬼塚ちひろ - 月光 (Onitsuka Chihiro - Gekkou).. As I am using a native japanese os, perhaps this is the reason for the difference.
tmeg
I'm just wondering, are you using NJStar to do this, if so, this is probably why. 鬼塚ちひろ - 月光 (Onitsuka Chihiro - Gekkou).. As I am using a native japanese os, perhaps this is the reason for the difference. No, I don't use NJStar (but I have it installed). I have the Windows XP multi language interface version, so I can change to Chinese/English/German, but not Japanese. I think it might be some problem in my code, where I use the current system code page or so. Or you do not have installed the support for europe or amercan codepages. A little strange. You see in the picture, that there is no problem to enter the title you provided. Another thing, that is strange, I could not type any such characters here in the message, they appeared as number codes, but I see your text fine. So I do not fully understand this input and codepage/unicode system. It must be some setting for the default code page, I will check that, too. I will do further tests, soon. Use the "check for updates" feature in my app in one or two weeks, I hope I will provide an update for this problem. chris
