Guest Anonymous
What is the best cheap/free software to use to import my MD live recordings digitally to my PC? My MD deck (MDS-JB920) and PC soundcard (Delta 66) both have coax digital ins & outs. I’ve got the MD hooked up to the pc but I don’t know what software to use to capture the sound! I want to be able to do visual sound editing, adjust gain, normalize, do fades, pan L-R, etc. I have Roxio ECDC 5 Platinum but it seems awfully cumbersome. Any suggestions? sudden
Most soundcards have bundled software, Creative have a wave recorder that do the jobb. Nero Wave Edit are another one. When you have the raw Wave file, edit it with Goldwave or Nero. There you can normalize, do fades, pan L-R. You can't realy do all that while making the first actual recording. Sure you can fade and so on during recording but then you can't make changes if the fade was not in right spot. Better to do the edit afterwards. mAjEsTiC
yup i agree with sudden above...do the editing after you've recorded on the hdd...makes life easier...you could also use a program such as Adobe Audition...simple yet effective program IMO... Guest Anonymous
There's a serious freeware sound-recorder program called Audacity that should do the job for you. http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ Paid programs like CoolEdit are also pretty useful. WinNetMD will record each track on the MD as a separate .wav file. It's about $15, and saves beaucoup time in editing if you've already put the tracks where you want them on the MD. http://christian.klukas.bei.t-online.de/fi...md/winNetMD.htm
