mAjEsTiC
i hav both the N1 and the N10...i think that the N1 has better sound than the N10 which sounds IMO a little weak...but it is lighter and thinner other than that i kind of like my N1's battery life as well as the sound output...the one i would suggest out of all of them if u can stretch the budget is the N1 or the N910 because of the size, battery life, weight and feature advantages that it has over the other models.... future love
I agree with mAjEsTiC when he says that the n1 has a better sound to the n10. I have already had this models: > mz-r900: good MD, he's very strong but he's quite big. Just one line on the screen... A lot of functions, you don't need to hack it. You have 2 'jog dial who are very easy to use. > mz-r500 (or 501) but it's the same: full in plastic but strong. Be careful: the screen is too little, you can't see the song's title! It's boring. If haven't got enought money to buy a better MD... > mz-n1: very good MD: good sound, lot of functions, beautiful, lot of accessories... I think the better choice to do, but it's the more recent and the more expensive. In the list, the g750 is the only one to have a tuner. sudden
All those are Sony MD:s. My bad experience with Sony makes me not wanna waste any more money on em. If you can, get the new Sharp NetMD that's coming out now (Sharp IM-DR580/DR80) It got all the goddies that Sharp have in the past and optic out, that's something that Sony haven't had since the Dodo got extinct. Price for the DR580/DR80 are 305 USD in Japan. Will cost a little more over here/there but I still think it worth it.
future love
Sudden, are you sure that the Sharp Im-dr580 will have an 'optical out' ? It seems to be an bad information...it's a mistake on behalf of Sharp...no?
sudden
Hmmm, I read about it here http://forums.minidisc.org/viewtopic.php?t=2668 Maybe it's not true. To bad.
mAjEsTiC
from the reports that i've been hearing this unit will NOT have an optic output...
saix
whats an optic output? :?
mAjEsTiC
TOSLink out...similar to the plugs used on Optic outputs on the discmans that have this feature...and basically the same as the white jack on the MD except it outputs instead of inputs...(gives out a bright light)
Guest Anonymous
There is just no comparison in that list of Sony machines....I I am currently working for Sony and can safely say that the MZN1 is the best quality MiniDisc amongst that lot. There are some good ones out there but for build quality and sound quality there is no better than the MZN1....only thing is I will warn you about OpenMG software supplied...but that is the same with most of the Sony MiniDiscs. Also if you are after a cheep MZN1 then there are refurbished models for sale in Clark's Village in Street UK....give them a call on 01458 841555. They are reduced from £259.99 to £169.99. Have a nice one mate....
