Guest Anonymous
I hacked my MZ-R700 and now there seems to be lots of problems with it which include: 1. I can't charge the battery (it just makes a clicking sound everytime i press charge) 2. Whenever the unit automatically shuts off, it makes a weird clicking sound 3. It never shows the "no disc" message. If anyone know how to fix this I would really appreciate it.
Guest Anonymous
Well, sorry mate, but you knew the risks involved... anyway, all you can do is go to a registered Sony dealership/ repair centre really.
mAjEsTiC
either u take it 2 a Sony repair store or try and "un-hack" ur unit to its previous settings to see if that works...
bertrik
You could try to set back the original values of the F-code registers that you changed (if you still remember them / wrote them down). If you don't know the original values, it may help to set f-code 63 from 1 to 0. On my MZ-N510 this sets f-code registers 61 and 62 back to their original values. Guest Anonymous
I tried to set the F-codes back to the original but the problems are still there...i even reset the EEPROM with the guide but that didnt work either. Oh well I guess i'm stuck with an MD that won't charge its battery. At least I learnt my lesson about not messing with firmware settings Thanks for ur replies. Guest Anonymous
Messing with firmware is harmless when the instructions are followed to a T. Not that I'd bother to hack my R500, but my RioVolt is running on iRiver firmware.
Guest Anonymous
I'm pretty sure that I followed the guide properly. I did some searching and it seems that i'm not the only one that this has happened to check these threads out. http://forums.minidisc.org/viewtopic.php?t=181 http://forums.minidisc.org/viewtopic.php?t=
