Hey Everyone,

I'm really frustrated with trying to find this out. There seems to be a lot of conflicting info out there.

For instance, I've read that Sony's MZNF610 has no backlight on it's remote yet the following link says it does. In fact, the site says that all models above and including the 610 have backlit remotes even though I'm sure I've read that the 810 doesn't have a backlit remote either.

http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetai...d=&newdeptid=19

Are there some 610s that do have backlit remotes? The difference possibly being a later model of the exact same 610 name or country of manufacture/sale? In other words, do 610s that are sold in Canada have backlights while those in the U.S. don't?

And I have yet to see (at least that I can remember) any model with a backlit display on the main unit. Are there any out there?

Please post any models with backlit displays on their remote or main unit and any comments are welcome!

Thanks!

no the units below the N910 in the NetMD range do NOT come with backlit remotes as std from Sony (info from Sony Japan)...the only units that carry a backlit remote as standard are the flagship portable recorders...i.e. the N910/N10 for the NetMD recorders and the E10/E510/E610/E710/E810/E620/E720 for players...

Futureshop could be selling NetMDs with backlit remotes that they've thrown in there. Or more likely, they've just got incorrect info on their website.

No MD recorders with a backlit display on the main unit? I think there's one by Aiwa, but I'm not sure. And it's not a nice blue, but an ugly orangey yellow or something...

What about Sharp's stuff? Any of them with backlights?

Aiwa did use to have Backlit LCD's on the main unit and they were blue...this was from the F70-F90 when they stopped using it coz it fell under Sony management and yeh everything from there went Sony's way...>.< but otherwise there aren't many MD units with backlit LCD on the main unit...the remote u can buy from most online retailers but whether it works properly on the unit that u've specified is another matter (it should work)...
