Guest Anonymous
Greetings, I own a MZ-N510 and I have this problem: Some of the mp3 that I've converted to ATRAC3 plays as silence in SonicStage and the time continues to tic away.. Naturally, when I transfert THOSE converted files to my MD player , it also plays as silence while the time counter counts (go figure! ). The original mp3s plays flawlessly under Winamp v2.91. So, who's fault is it ? Does my unit need replacing (My unit is still under warranty thank goodness) or the software needs updating ? (I have SonicStage version 1.5.53.17120) Thanks! P.S. BTW, is it normal that I can eject the MD while it's playing ?? (I though they have a locking mechanism to prevent this)
bertrik
If SonicStage already plays them as silence, then I think SonicStage is to blame. The fact that you also don't hear anything on MD player is just a consequence of the SonicStage bug. I stopped using SonicStage in favour of SimpleBurner + daemon tools. This is much easier, doesn't take up a heap of disk space and also no problems with checkin/checkout or track protection. I also wondered about the eject, but I guess it is no problem to eject while playing since my MZ-N510 still works... There is actually a locking mechanism, but that is only active when recording as far as I know.
Guest Anonymous
UPDATE: I've managed to play my converted mp3s in SonicStage by seeking (the FF >> button) a little bit when I'm playing them. In other words, when the file starts playing, I click once on the FF button and voilà, the music's back :? However, when transfered to the MD player, it still plays as silence... mAjEsTiC
that's SonicStage's problem...try and convert them into wav files with Lame and transfer the wav files across instead...this works most of the time..
