Guest Anonymous
my sony mzn505 started acting very odd. when i change tracks it sometimes bounces back or foward and if i keep on pressing change track i get a t-prot error, sorry or mk on . to make matters worse, i tried to enter service mode in hopes it might be fixed. while i was in there, something must have gone wrong because pressing up and down on the play pad ( back, forward, stop, play) now changed the volume . please help

bertrik
You can probably go back to the service menu by using the remote instead of the keys on the player itself. Take a look here (under tips and tricks) http://home.kabelfoon.nl/~bertrik/netmd/mdhack.html The trick is to hold STOP instead of GROUP while doing the magic sequence on the remote. You may still have trouble with the keys in the service menu, but with a little practice you should be able to figure out the key configuration. Guest Anonymous
once i get into the service menu, what must be done to fix the mixed up buttons
bertrik
Once you get into the service menu, go to menu 61 and set its value to 0, then press PAUSE. It may also work to set menu 63 to 0 (and then press PAUSE). I've read some posts from other people about the problem with the jumpy keys and to me it does not look like something that can be fixed in the service menu. Perhaps it's a mechanical thing, or caused by dirt under the keys, but I'm not sure about that.
Guest Anonymous
thanks, i was just wondering, if the jumpy keys was caused by some dirt would it be possible to dismantle the md player and clean it. if so, how hard would it be
mAjEsTiC
yep it's possible to dismantle the unit and clean it...check out the service manual to see how...i wouldn't say that it's that hard to do since i've dismantled my friend's N707 unit before...
