Guest Anonymous
Hi ppl, I am debating at the moment which Net MD to get out of the 4 following! 1. MZ-N710 2. MZ-NF810 3. MZ-N10 4. MZ-N910 I'm currently leaning towards either no.3 or no.4, they both seem similar but which is better?

Guest Anonymous
ok ive narrowed it down to either the N10 or the N910 both are similary priced
Guest Anonymous
I'd pick the 910. Better battery life, and other stuff. Most people prefer the 910 over the N10, asthetically and feature-wise.

BerkY
Yup i'd go for the N910 also as the N10 has numerous problems like the PC not detecting the MD and it has an internal li-ion battery that can be a problem replacing if it dies. The N910 is 30gr heavier but i reckon it looks cooler. Both have the same remote. And as others have mentioned it the N910 kills the N10 in terms of battery life so if you do care about you should pick the N910. that was my choice and i am pretty happy with it. I can listen to my fave music 2-3 hours a day for a week without recharging which is pretty cool if you ask me. Its pointless charging every couple of days or so. It not only wears out the battery but also is a hassle. So vote 1 N910 Cheers BerkY

The N10 does not have numerous problems with PC-related issues. Most likely whatever issue Berky read about was isolated and due to faulty software installation. I have not heard of any consistant N10 hardware-related issues. The internal battery is no different than any other HD-type device [i.e. iPod] and is susceptible to failure after long-term use. I believe Sony has flexible pricing options available for replacement [and I think you can even do it yourself], but if you want to avoid that just get the 910. BerkY
I have seen lots of ppl witness this problem with the N10. It seems to be occuring a lot since lots of ppl post about it on other boards also. However, I have not seen any problem regarding the N910. Interesting, no? Cheers BerkY
mAjEsTiC
Sony units do have a few problems with them...as do many other brands but in general they're built to a high standard (i hope) so i don't know y a lot of them are mulfunctioning hardware wise...if it's connected to the PC i must say that it has something to do with the Software/Hardware interface (which quite frankly sux atm) so unless they fix this problem up users will still get a problem with connecting their N10 units to their PC...the N910 is a newer unit and it doen't use a dock with a new type of USB connector that the N10 does...they still use the typical small type USB connectors which have been pretty reliable in the past so that maybe why it hasn't been experiencing that many problems.... BerkY
Yea the USB interface on the N910 is simpler and there is no need for the cradle at all. It is on the main unit. Maybe that seems to be why the N910s are working as it should (touch wood 8) ). And since the N910 is a newer unit i reckon ppl should buy the N910. I really like the N10 and wanted an N10 initially but after reading how ppl experience docking problems like that i changed my mind and opted for the N910. Working fine so far... Though last night the minidisc was stuck at a certain part of the song for no apparent reason. I then removed the disk put it back in and played that song again with no problems... The battery was low though maybe that was the problem hehe who knows. Anyway this cant really considered a problem... Cheers BerkY
