kevs
I'm really curious as to why md players that are portable, or even car units remember what song you left off on, but home units do not. Any explanation appreciated. thanks!

BerkY
Maybe its cos you stop the song frequently in the middle on portable player and recorders as you are mainly travelling with it. So as a convenient feature it starts where you left off. But at home you do not stop the music so frequently as there is no one urging you to stop the music for odd reasons. You just listen to it in the confort and peace of your own. No traffic, no salesmen, no mobile phones ringing in the middle of a song (well ok it still might but then you can pause)... Dunno thats what I think anyway
kevs
No, not for me, I listen to my home unit way more than my portable. I'm acutally wondering if someone knows the technology behind how this happens -- maybe it has to do with portables having a battery. BerkY
But Sony doesnt think just about you... It thinks about the masses. There are more portables out there then systems. And Sony might want that technology to be exclusive to portables ONLY. Anyway if portables have a battery, systems have a better, larger, infinite battery dont you think?
kevs
Yes, you are probably right, just a guess. Love to find someone who really knows. Love to have my home unit remember song it was last on. But you know I just got ipod, and it seems to shut down after two days of non use, even with battery full
mAjEsTiC
iPods seem to have a few problems with their battery so i wouldn't be surprised about it too much...
