I am now the owner of a 505 which was thrown in as part of an eBay auction as the previous owner had tried to hack the RAM and bolloxed it in the process.

The unit now shows just NV ERR in the display. I have read the various posts here on trying to reset the values, etc. Problem is even after removing the battery and powering it down I can't get into Test mode. Is there a way short of soldering the bridge or do I just take this little unit off to an electrics service place??

Thanks for the help.

just take it off to a service center to get it fixed up...that's the best thing to do...if u do want to do a board mod to get into the service mode then u need to know the PCB layout and what each component does...it should outline to you the various parts of the PCB and what each of them does...so i think that if u could they may have outlined it there...
