LilDvL
[Mod edit: Merged from double-posting.] [begin merge] I'm new to the minidisc community having received my mz-n505 a few days ago...so please bear with me. The problem I am having is with the Simple Burner software. I've downloaded/installed the software and it crashes every time I try to run it. I get the error "The program has encountered a problem and needs to shut down.....etc" I'm running winXP pro. I've tried a reboot, uninstalling/reinstalling, still the same error. Any suggestions?! [/end merge] The simple burner software is evidently not working for me. I have tried both SimplerMD and M3U2SB, but they both use simple burner. Is there a way I can record onto my md without having to use simple burner. Sorry if this sounds like a stupid/repetitive question..but I'm still learning. Thanks. iceeedtea
Welcome to the MiniDisc Community Forums. Please don't double post in the future, even though your problem is frustrating. I merged your other post into this thread. What's the error message that you recieve? Did you install OpenMG before installing Simple Burner? If not, uninstall everything, and do just that. Simple Burner requires OpenMG/SonicStage core files to be installed to work properly. In fact...Simple Burner is far better than OpenMG in some respects, since there will be no restrictions on exported tracks.
LilDvL
Thanks for the info, I did get the Simple burner to finally work. I've installed the OpenMG, and it did work. But now I have another problem. Seems openMG will not detect my minidisc. My pc does detect my minidisc but it seems that the proper drivers aren't installed. I've downloaded the netmd_driver.zip. OpenMG v.2.2, and it keeps displaying "External device/media not found" I've checked Device manager and under Human Interface Devices I have HID-compliant consumer control device and USB Human Interface Device....is this correct? I was expecting to see something that said "netmd". I've tried uninstalling the drivers, as well as openMG, reboot (without my minidisc plugged in to the usb) reinstalled drivers, openMG, reboot, plug in device. And still openMG is not detecting my minidisc, although my computer does detect the new hardware and installes the components stated above. I am using windows XP pro. Any suggestions? Thanks
mAjEsTiC
try opening up OpenMG w/o the unit plugged in...then once it's opened up plug the unit into the USB port...see if that detects it...if not just reinstall the drivers again w/o the MD unit plugged in...it shouldn't say "New Device Found" after u've installed the drivers...if it does then just install the drivers again...i've found this to work for me... KLank
Also, make sure there is a disc in the MD unit too. If you do not have a disc in the MD unit I've seen where it doesn't detect the MD player.
