sirpilf
Hey, i was wondering, on the products page at minidiscs.org it says the MZ-NH3D is in the Japanese market, but does that mean its only gonna be in Japan? Since the other ones say Japan, US, and Europe. And why is it more expensive (it says 30,000 yen which is like $270 almost) then the MZ-NHF800. im deciding between one of those but the 800 seems to have alot more features. So can anyone help explain the differences?
Christopher
The differences between the NH3D and the NH800 are quite apparent. I invite you to check out our product pages: NH3D: http://minidisc.org/part_Sony_MZ-NH3D.html NHF800: http://minidisc.org/part_Sony_MZ-NHF800.html I'll sum it up, anyways: The NH3D has a 3-line remote, whereas the NHF800 has one. The NH3D has a HD digital amp, whereas the NHF800 has no digital amp at all; a HD digital amp results in much better sound than a unit without. Also, the NH3D features an exquisite charging stand with USB connectivity whereas the NHF800 will most likely just have a charging stand simply for recharging. There are many more differences but I'll leave that for you to see in the aforementioned links.

nietzsche
 i think that the most beuty hi-md is the mz-nh1.. but this is very similar( the same style) but a more covenient price...! why only in japan? :whatever:
jay_zhead
Hey, aren't you guys forgetting one thing? The NH3D is a DOWNLOADER. It doesn't have a record function. It can only recieve files from the PC. Thus, it's useless to me (as half the reason for my MD is to record gigs), any for many other people as well, I'm sure. So it is NOT an NH-1 that costs less, it actually is a lesser unit.
Christopher
Some people are content with only that. Download-only units are quite popular in certain circles..

MDX-400
Hey, aren't you guys forgetting one thing? The NH3D is a DOWNLOADER. It doesn't have a record function. It can only recieve files from the PC. Thus, it's useless to me (as half the reason for my MD is to record gigs), any for many other people as well, I'm sure. So it is NOT an NH-1 that costs less, it actually is a lesser unit.As Kurisu suggested, downloaders can be okay/satisfying for some. No doubt it isn't an NH1 but it certainly *is* a high end unit, comparitavely speaking. The NH3D is indeed not scheduled for an NA release, and I think it is Japan only (though maybe it will get released in other countries?). I think it is like the NE810--in fact it pretty much is the replacement model for the NE810. And that unit was also Japan-only, AFAIK. I'd much rather have an NH3D than an NH600D, that's for sure. It also uses the Li-Ion internal like the NH1 does. So despite it being a "downloader" it is really the closest unit to the NH1 in terms of high-endedness. Probably the reason why the NH1, NH3D and EH1 were in the same press release--they are the high end Hi-MD units for this generation of units... nietzsche
the NH1 is very cool!! Magnesium body and fantastic jog-dial(and if you loose it?? :wacky: ) but the price is too high! p.s. but, with the hi-md you can use standard AA battery?
