another iPod problem is the battery, in the Hi-MD you can use a normal AA battery...! in the iPod no!

I'm interestedin mz-nh700.... i hope that it will be available in july! :smile: i want it for holiday.....! :smile:

i called sony last week, they say it's already in june(for Europe), i think that consumers section doesn't know anything.... i hope that new Hi-MD will be available in EU before august, or we have to wait september.... it's difficult that Hi-MD will be available first in europe than US

i think it's usuefull, but not so important to spend 80[ much more, cosidered that i'm not interested in stick control with backlit... the only things is the digital amp... :ohmy:

i'm goig to take the mz-nh700... i think that's the 900 is better, but the 700 is cheaper, i'm not interested in stick control... but i can change idea....! :smile:

in my cd player(sony) i've 1 bit dac.. it's that the digital amplifier?

i'm not english and maybe i can miss-understand what you are saying... if you see here -->> http://www.minidisc.org/part_Hi-MD_Sony.html i can understand than the mz-nh600 eh1 have the same function, all the models are downloader at least, i think that the mz-eh1 is like the 600 but externally is the same of mz-nh600... so if you are interested only downloading(not mice or line in) you can take mz.nh600... unfortunetly the eh1 will be available only in japan.....! the design was so cool.... like the nh1 but cheaper...

but in the mz-nh900 there is the small(flat) battery and the external AA battery pack... i've a questions, the battery pack is the big and black things below the MD? or it is the stand..? or the function is double, stand + battery pack.. i think it's a little bigger than they can do...! another questionsis for the availability of this type of battery... here in Italy i have never seen it on sales, and researching in internet i've not found a lot.... and finally... what's the life of that's battery, how many cicle of rechearging they can do?

i use MD in not-silence-place, so the quality is usually disturbed by the external noise(bus, traffic, voices...).. however i can appreciate quality in the night(the steereo can disturb the neighbors :laugh: ) i've time to think... :wacky: thanks jadeclaw! p.s. I hope (and i think you like me.. :happy: ) that the launch date will be not delayed in europe like in US... at first time it was april in US and june europe.. now june US.. and europe.. september?? i want it for the summer....! :smile:

no, i don't... it's the quality so different?? :cool: i've an old r500 without(off course) digital amp.... how muche the quality increase? more bass? more clear sound?

it's possible that i've understand the group function.... :ohmy: (that's a miracle if it's true..) i'm right? that's the groups way funvtion of the mz-nh1 and mz-nh900... in the other model you can orgnize your music in different mode like.... i don't know! ù excuse to all if I a am a break-ball-person(i don't know if it's possible to say this in english... in Italian rompiballe!)but i want to know before, 'cause i'm not decided to buy 900 or 700, i'm not interested in jog-control, digital-amp and other... but I want to know only groups function... :smile: thanks a lot!

... but in the spec chart i swritten that the groups function is only included in mz-nh1 and mz-nh900!! :ohmy: but if that's true, in the other model how can you organize music? 'cause if i use 48kbs atrac 3 plus, for 45 h of music, for example if i've got 600-700 songs, how can i organize it?? i hope that you do not have to to push 600 times the button to hear the last song?? thare is another method to organiza it? for me it's just a problem when i've 50/60 songs on a normal MD...

i think that's the best are mz-nh900 and mz-nh1.... the mz-nh1 is veeery cool!! but it cost too much, i prefer the mz-nh700... but i have to know what are the limitation of playlist....! and i think that the only "flat" minidisc in the rear is the mz-nh1.. i hope that in europe the hi-md will be available before the summer....! :smile: but i want to read some US review! @jadeclaw... do you think that hi-md will be available here in europe at the date estabilished(june-july?)

thanks a lot! :smile: but viewing your chart... it is possible to organize music in playlist with EVERY hi-md......! :smile: i hope that's true! but what's the difference between group(i think that is such a playlist...) and the auto persdonal memory... you can organize in particular order(like the program?) but in only one long list? i don't understand.. maybe because i don't understand english! :rasp:

I hope you right! :smile: 20 groups are a very poor playlist.... with ATRAC3plus 64 kbps (Hi-LP) you can make 20 grops of 1h40min... it's not awfull, but in front of the iPod the playlist function is a joke...?it's so hard to include the playlist?

yeah! that's ridicolous... only 20 is very smaller... and with this groups you make the playlist...? only 20 playlist is too low, at least 40!

i think that in japan they have good profit, maybe in europe and US not, but i think it's better for sony to continue to sell 'cause if they stop production they can loose much more money! i think that minidisc can make profit, or at least, make less profit for the challengers...

i've tried sonicstage 2.0(only to try it, 'cause i've not a net-md) and there is the option to burn (mp3 cd, audio cd and atrac cd). but i don't know if you can write all the music you have or only such kind of "legal" music....!
