bchallman
What does the term "OpenMG" mean? What is "Open" about it? "MG" = ?? The help file on my software doesn't say and I had no luck Googling it. Thanks! -BC
KJ_Palmer
M G = Magic Gate (apparently), but don't ask me the background to it...
bchallman
"Magic Gate" -- you're kidding me! I never would have guessed that! When I try to use Sonic Stage, I tend to think Mighty Garbage. Having such a weird name seems fitting for software that could easily be the most poorly designed on my computer. I have been using computers since the old Atari/Commodore/CPM/Apple II days so I'm hardly a slouch and I've given SonicStage a fair shake, figuring I'd get over some hump in the learning curve. But I literally can't use it. I mean I just can not accomplish the tasks I want to do. I've tried several times and I just give up -- very angry at Sony! So, I end up using my MD as a glorified tape recorder. At least it works well that way. -BC
KJ_Palmer
Yep, and a lot of disappointed users would agree with you. I guess Opening a "Magic Gate" would imply endless possibilities were just round the corner . I've ony used the software for titling, it's pretty good for that at least... Leland
Magic Gate is Sony's polite expression for digital rights restrictions. For memory stick devices, you must have "MG" specified memory sticks to copy music onto them so they are secure from future copying.
mAjEsTiC
though it seems to me that the title contradicts itself as MG aint exactly open...i wonder who made up that title...
