I have just checked out the new Winter 04 copy of Sony's Pulse magazine here in Australia which includes a two page spread of the new Hi-MD equipment. It lists the MZ-NH600 as having "...Record Level Control, Optical In, Analogue In...". The accompanying picture also has the optical/analogue input visible on the side. This may prove to be further evidence that there will indeed be two different models of the NH600 worldwide.

The European version has Analog/Digital in as well. (acc. to MDCenter.nl)

Why the US-Version doesn't has any inputs,

is incomprehensible.

Obviously, again someone at Sony has been paid for NOT thinking...

You're absolutely right. The only reason I can think of is perhaps the Sony are trying to entice American buyers to spend more money and get the next model up. But when you think about it, it must be costing Sony a pretty penny to make two different versions of the same model.

'Not thinking' and 'Sony' are now three words synonymous with each other.

I'm glad that Australia wasn't forgotten. Now I'm excited. My old unit (MZ-R70) needs replacing soon (the laser doesn't focus well unless the unit is upside down). Hopefully the 900 will be a reasonable price... I'm pretty sure the tax department owes me a lot of money smile.gif

You can download the Pulse magazine from www.sony.com.au if you are interested.

The prices are just the model number - $200. (E.g. NH900 is 900 - 200 = $700. NH1(000) is $800)

Interesting little algorithm there, are you sure about that?

Yes. To be exact, it is Price=typenumber-201.

Except the NH1, think 1000 here and then it fits as well.

Did some conversions here, the units are between 15 to 30% more expensive than in Europe.

Since Sony doesn't give out any prices for Germany, I compared with Directshopper.de

I think the NH900 and NHF800 might come a little later after the first batch of units being released, well its looking like that now.

The current Aus RRP for the units are

NH1: $799

NH900: $699

NH700: $499

NH800: $599

NH600: $399

Andy your algorithm works perfectly against these prices
