  1. Sony's reason was that they were making a loss so they were forced to increase the price.
  2. Sorry guys, there was a small mix up on the site. We sold the last of the "cheap" blanks last week, we have officially raised the price to $11.95 per blank
  3. Dont believe a word the JB staff are telling you. The Hi-MD blanks are plentiful at the moment, in the last year and a bit they were hard to get in retail because a particular store was buying them all out *hint, hint* Now since Sony Au has raised the price to $11.95 per blank from $4.95 the sales have gone down therefore plenty of stock. BTW, this particular store still has these blanks for $4.95 but will be raising the price to the new price in a few weeks once the stock is sold.
  4. Unfortunately it seems official, from 2 weeks onwards the new RRP will be $11.95AUD per blank. We have purchased most of the existing stock to try to maintain the lower price for a little while longer.
  5. No Probs It looks like we may have stable stock from next week, that is if Sony dont do a back flip on us
  6. It looks like we receive some stock at the end of the week. Robo11 and R.porter, you guys have been allocated stock from this load. Sony has been doing a lot of number and date shuffling, its a bit of a pain but not much I can do
  7. We are expecting some stock next week which will hopefully get rid of most of our back orders. All new orders from yesturday onwards will be allocated for our August Stock.
  8. Sorry for the guys that missed out. What had happen was that Sony changed the dates and availability on us. We were meant to receive a whole lot more last week and be able to fulfil most of the back orders, but because Sony only supplied us with a very small amount we couldnt get most of our orders out The next shipment is due in around 2 weeks, this should contain most of the units of our July order with Sony but then again, Sony could change the dates again. Fingers cross they dont. robo11. Sony will have more units available for around a year, the only thing is that there are very little numbers coming in so they may be hard to get your hands on. Right now I doubt you will see these in many stores at least for a few months.
  9. No prob guys Update: Looks like we may have our first shipment as early as late next week!!! The 2nd shipment is around 2 weeks after that but only a small number will be in that shipment. The 1st shipment is just about sold out, so if you are on the fence act now! p.s We havent updated the dates on our website just in case Sony does a back flip on us
  10. We ordered these in as soon as Sony had them listed in the ordering system in early June, we were basically snipering them Even the Sony Style website says stock it is due to ship to its customers on the 18th of July. So im not too sure whats going on here
  11. This is the biggest mystery at this stage. Our intial spec sheet from Sony said "Remote" without any detail of it being a LCD remote or a crappy remote, now their website says 3 line remote. When we get the stock I will confirm it for you guys, unless someone beats me to it of course Ozpeter, Send me a pm with your order number
  12. Just to clarify. These units are not grey imports They all come with Sony Australia warranty.
  13. Great news! Black is the now official release colour in Australia, silver will not be available here in Australia. I'm not sure why I was told silver earlier, oh well!!
  14. Just to confirm with what has already been said is that the RH1 will be available early July. Silver is the only available colour and the RRP is $599. We will offer pre-orders soon and we will be offering a very attractive price
  15. Not too sure at this stage, it really all depends with Sony Australia. From my impression the MD format is gone in Australia and Sony hasnt done enough to get their MP3 players out there so to me the Sony portable range is in shambles here in Oz; The NWA3000 is currently out of stock and could be discontinued here in Oz when it was only released a few months ago. But weirder things have happened, and it would be a real shame if they decide not to bring this unit into the Australian market. If Sony only knew how many disappointed Mac users are out there and the huge gap they are leaving behind when or if they do not continue with the MD market
  16. Right now no http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=12686&st=120#
  17. The airmail route we taken was to ensure that our customers will get a battery with their unit, it is a one off thing to stop the delay. Airmail is not a option for sending out units as it is not traceable, in the end it is a huge risk for us as we have no proof that our customers actually received the goods and can easily force a chargeback on us
  18. Thanks guys for your support. I got some news with the international shipments. The security with export is really strict, we have been forced to remove the batteries from each consignment to get them out of the country. I have been unable to find a resolution in solving this. I have organized for the batteries to be sent out seperately via airmail which is proven to be less restrictive compared to EMS. Now due to this ordeal we have halted international shipping until we can find a solution. For the current international orders we will send them out without the battery and forward the battery out to you via airmail. But due to time restrictions we are unable to afford time to repack every order so until we find a resolution, international shipping will be halted. Sorry guys, EMS is a real pain in the arse right now.
  19. Guys I have ran into a small hiccup with the international orders which has delayed your shipments, I am terribly sorry for this but this is what happened. I received a call this morning from our account manager to inform me that Thursday EMS deliverys were being returned back to us due to the strict guidelines us Aussies have to go through when exporting. The problem is that the batteries are considered as "dangerous" goods which may cause explosion on the flight. I am waiting for the specialist to give me a call back on Monday to see how I can get around this. I am really sorry guys for this hiccup, I didnt think international shipping will run into so many problems. I will let you know the outcome when it becomes available. For now, it looks like the free battery charger + batteries that comes as the bundle pack with the NHF800, NH700 and NH600 will not be able to be sent out due to these restrictions. I am checking to see if the gumstick batteries are ok to send.
  20. Thanks guys Its really nice to hear that you are happy with what we have done so far. I will also look into insurance airmail, but from what I heard it only covers up to $100. I will check again in the morning
  21. I guess its comes down to personal taste in value. Our NH600 has a line input and remote port and the value pack is valued around $150AUD. I think the NH600D has a remote port but no line input A power converter shouldnt cost that much, locally in Australia it cost me no more than $20AUD. You dont have to get a Sony one, as long as it has the correct specs then any 3rd party one should work Although not a huge difference, export customers do not need to pay our 10% GST I know shipping is a pain in the arse, but again it lies in the weight of the whole package. I can easily slim down the shipping but you have to take away the bundle pack. Im still negotiating EMS rates with the EMS guys so I keep you up to date once something happens
  22. I cannot offer regular airmail due to the fact that its non traceable and there is no way for us to prove to the bank that a shipment was actually shipped using airmail. I should get something from the EMS guys in the next week. I dont think its going to be a huge discount, only a few dollars off
  23. I'm waiting for the EMS guys to write up a contract with better rates, I was told its not a huge discount though due to so many overheads with international shipping. The main reason of the higher rates is the bundle pack. I can take away the bundle pack and have just the unit shipped out which will be cheaper but I am unable to discount the price any further as we do not pay for the extra accessories. Let me know what you guys think
  24. Sorry guys, we do need further ID for international orders, this is no disrespect to you guys, it is simply a measure to protect our store from fraudulent orders. By opening the store to international orders you are also opening it to the nasty "customers" In regards to shipping, as I mentioned before, the shipping rate is affected by the weight of the unit. The whole package weighs around 2KG therefore it cost a bit more. I am seeing what can be done to slim it down a little. We could always send your orders by airmail which is much cheaper but there is no way of tracking and no form of responsibility from the courier Edit: Yes the adaptter is locked onto 240v
