lsainsbury
Hi all, Anybody found Hi-MD media in the UK - stores or online? Lee
KJ_Palmer
Nope, no disks to be had yet. Dixons had some Sony MD boxes labelled Hi-MD (compatible), but these just turned out to be standard 80 minute blanks...
eloquence
Although Dixons haven't yet got any of the players in stock (and you're better off going to EmpireDirect or the like for the players anyway), they do now have Hi-MD blanks for £5.99. Fast Eddie
The UK unit release isn't until August 5th. So I doubt media would be out before then.
KevinP
I bought an NH600 last week in London, though. And still can't get a Hi-MD disk...
Fast Eddie
Ah, I imported my 600. Didn't knwo they were out in London. I bought some 1GB discs from audiocubes.com
KevinP
Yep, but we get these Euro-spec (3 + 3) mW models, though that's not too bad. I guess you've got (5 + 5) mW, but no line/optical in? I've tried the PCM recording (on a standard disk) and it knocked me sideways...

The are the "marketing re-engineered" jobbies: Model - SONY MDW80 x3 Product Code - 873021 305Mb Capacity per Disk Compatible with Hi Definition Mini Disk Stores up to 13.5 hours Audio Dixons price £5.99 Lee

jadeclaw
Thats 3 Euros per disc. Well, that's nasty I say. 7 Euros for 5 discs is the normal price for Maxells 80 min. disc, Sony cost a Euro more per pack. Oh, and Ebay might be even cheaper than that.
