For HI-MD I use only ATRAC lossless, and was using LP2 for net MD, but based on what I've been reading here, I'm going to try SP on net MD to see how it sounds compared to AAL.

The door is completed detached from the unit at the hinge where the battery door is supposed swing open.

Uh oh. How specific are we talking? fine screwdrivers? or something way worse?

OK, but what am I super gluing? and given the electrical contacts are also in the door, gluing it concerns me and it will never be as strong as new. Got a search going on for RH-10s on ebay for parts, but I'm also wondering what other units use the same door, so that I can look for those as well for a parts donor?

Broke the battery door for the internal battery. I can still get the door to seat shut and the unit charges and plays, but I'm wondering if it's possible to repair or replace? Ideas?

I'm not of same mindset, iget a new car every 2 years, i love my flatscreen TV and my blueray player. But I also love my MD... simply because it's the best sounding player I've heard. Is it a cult type item? Probably... but that doesn't mean it's not good.Sure flash memory and HDDs are more convenient, but for me it's about the sound quality, and I think that MD still ranks in top echelon .

Just picked up a MZ-S2 with 20 discs for $46 plus shipping. I guess it depends upon the unit.

Got everything sorted. Deleted all my ATRAC files from alllocationas and the relared mdb files (Thanks arvin) and then re-imported all my mp3s and aac files. Now every file plays as it should. Thanks everyone

I have ATRAC files in both the default location and on my Z drive. Plus i have mp3s imprted as well just to add to the confusion. sounds like i nned to delete everythging from my library and all my ATRAC files and start fresh. any ideas on a quicand effectivre way to import ac files from iTunes?

No No problem there, all the titles are in english, seems to me that SS can't seem to find the songs no matter how hard I try.

I've been using SS4.3 for quite some time with no major issues, but I've run into a couple now and need some advice to get my library working properly. My single biggest issue is the SS can't seem to find my music files listed in the library to transfer them or to play them. It wont do anything with the files even when I browse for the file and find it for SS. As a result I'm thinking about starting fresh on my library and re-importing all my mp3s that reside on my network drive (right next to my oma files that SS can't see.) Also is there some way to effectively import aac files form itunes without burning them to CD? Thanks
