  1. Thing is though does it? I mean, Hugo Chavez saying the playstation - like any other console - has games that you kill people on, and him voicing his disgust at this fact would have no bearing what-so-ever on my decision to buy or not buy this console. But I agree, it would be interesting to see the revenues. I somehow doubt the PS3 is available in Venezuela mind.
  2. Hi dogg. I'm think I know where you're going with this, I just need to get my pictures online and then I'll shoot you one of the harness. It's a bit of a mess though and might not help a lot to be honest, but I'll see what I can do for you.
  3. is selling his Nakamichi!

  4. The time has come for me to get rid of My Nakamichi Head Unit. It's a great unit and I've had it for quite some time, simply put I'm moving over to Atrac CDs though and I don't have a use for it anymore. I'd like to see it go to a good home so I'm giving Sony Insider members first dibs on it, if I haven't sold it soon though I am going to put it on ebay. For information on the unit: http://www.nakamichi.com/pfv/ICE/MDPlayer/MD45z.htm High resolution pictures will follow this post shortly, and the unit does come with the remote. I'm quite open to offers, but I'm not going to let this go for silly money. I know they go for about
  5. I'm interested, but I can't work with your price at the moment unfortunately. Do you have any pictures or anything?
  6. I am currently selling my Nakamich MD45Z. It's a gorgeous head unit. http://www.nakamichi.com/pfv/ICE/MDPlayer/MD45z.htm PM me if you're interested.
  7. Interesting. Well, I will have a good think about it then. I've had a look on the bay and there are a few MD changers available, so I may well go down that route. Record MD in a car? Blimey.. How odd.. I agree, a car is hardly an excellent acoustic environment anyways.
  8. Wow, thanks for the solutions guys. I definitely like the idea of an Atrac CD player, I'm looking into that with great interest. It seems I have a few options. An MD-LP Changer, which is a possibilty, I was rather hoping to have it the other way around though with an MD head unit and a CD, or Atrac CD changer in the glove box or something. An external Portable MD recorder with an Aux in is another idea, but not something that really appeals to me to be honest, part of teh reason I love MDs in the car is the fact that it's so easy just to pop one in the player and listen to it, no need to fumble around with leads, and no need to worry about any disks getting scratched or anything like that. I can keep them in the door card if necessary. I suppose the positive of this though is I could get HiMD in my car. I agree with you about taking the time to record a good disk, label a good disk, but quite honestly I forget to mark the tracks correctly. If I had a fool proof way of doing that, then I'd be a lot happier.
  9. Hi all. I'm something of a veteran of minidiscs, but I have tried to move over to the newer technologies, just to keep up with the times if nothing else. In the hope that I can find a better quality product that will in effect supercede Minidiscs. I've tried pretty much everything. I've had iPods, which whilst the interface was lovely, the sound and build quality was lacking, I've tried importing fancy new MP3 players with superb sound quality from China, to little avail, most recently I've a Sansa Fuze, which again, doesn't match the sound quality or the build quality of any of my Minidisc Players. All of these units are now sat in a drawer, or in a bin or some such, and I am still using my MZ-N510. I used to have a Nakamichi MD-45Z in my car, which I changed out for a top-of-the line CD Head Unit thinking it would be the way forward, but the damn things skips everytime I go over a bump and the quality is not a patch on the Nakamichi's. Incase you hadn't figured I'm getting rather annoyed by the state of things post MD. My old MD gear is running out, Pioneer Deck has seen better days, N510 seems to be getting a touch tempremental. I can live with this as I've had these units for a damn long time and don't mind shelling out on them to replacement. I'm thinking an Onkyo Deck and an RH1. Chief of issues though is my car. I love the sound from my MD45z, but in this day and age I am not going to sit around and manually record to an MD-SP Disk. I'd like to be able to stick my music on a disk and play it in the car using the dreaded Sonicstage. Does anybody know of a headunit that will let me do this?
  10. It's strange. It struck me also the other day when I saw some Sony Floppy Disks in my local specialist store, yet I couldn't get a hold of Minidiscs for love nor money. Thank God for the Internet else we'd be screwed!
  11. Talk about selling at the wrong damn time. Give it a month or so and I'll be interested in a Denon/Onkyo, failing that I'll nab a sony. Do they have remotes?
  12. So let me get this straight. You CAN use SP mode under winxp compatibility mode?
  13. At the moment I have Random Shit #1,2,3. Nas, Dre & Jay [For Nas, Dr. Dre & Jay Z respectively], Chilled Cuts, and Hulkin Beats.
  14. Hi all. I am still running off MD SP (as in, actual recording to disks) and I am after the top of the line relevant equipment in terms of sound quality. Does anyone know what a good Deck is and a good portable player is? Thanks
  15. Just one of the many reasons I love MD, both the discs and the players are durable as old boots.
  16. I was under the impression that not many were being made at all outside of Japan, and that most places were selling off old stock. I know Onkyo do still make their decks though.
  17. Now there's competition for me buying an RH-1 If ever I needed it.
  18. Loque

    Nice little car

reminds me when people tried to put Merlin Engines in Minis...
  19. NICE! Kinda the exact thing I want, damn you and your living in Japan
  20. Sods Law! Right after I buy a sodding Cowon Player as well. Damn.
  21. Without meaning to sounds like a muppet, MDC? Amazon drops them at 270, and I haven't found much cheaper elsewhere. 190 is a bit more palletable.
  22. It seems that one of the side effects of the fall of MD's is that there are no storage units being produced that will hold them. I'd love some kind of device that was like a CD rack but for minidiscs as at the moment I just have MD's floating all over the place. What do you guys use?
  23. I'd love one. It's a beautifully designed player, and it is on my list, but to be quite honest, I just can't justify spending
  24. The MP3 market has moved on a lot, I won't try to deny this, and there is plenty more to it than the iPod, this is very correct. I personally own a Cowon s9, it's a lovely machine when it is working properly. It's widely regarded as one of the best, readily available MP3 players. Whilst I don't have a great deal of music on there it is in lossless forma, and I have a decent pair of 'phones connected to it, and to be quite honest it sounds pretty good. So good infact, that I have stopped carrying my Minidisc player around with me, it's getting on a bit now, and I don't want to drop it or something, or lose it when I am clubbing or whatever. My s9 offers a nice tradeoff between sound quality, looks, and portability. Sound Quality is at the forefront of its image (please take note apple) and pretty much everything else is second best. It is a fussy little machine, but it is one that I would consider using as a replacement for my portable player. The sound quality, I believe is still not as good as a well recorded SP disc to be quite honest, but it's not far off and I can quite happily roam around with it. It won't be replacing my deck or my In car system though.
