I have a few things for grabs, everything in used working condition unless I say otherwise. Sony MDS-JE780 Deck in Silver: Has been kept in a flight case all it's life, hence the marks on top. But otherwise works as prescribed. Sony MDS-JE510 Deck in Black. This is still in original box with furniture, very very light use. Still has original manual and remote. 2 x Sony MZ-N710 1 x Sony MZ-N810 All have the accessories, as you can see. One of the 710 remotes has seen better days. The 810 remote is in need of repair. Units are used but functional. I'll consider most offers as long as you pay postage to the fullest. Will also trade for other shiny stuff! (I also collect Game&Watch FYI) -Chris

It was a typo. My bad. EDIT: I'd also take the color 80 MD's as they are my usual brand.

If you do that rich, I will possibly be interested in the N910! wish I had the cash for the RH1 but can't really justify the spend.

Damn those meddling kids!

Just a post to say thank you to Danny (slugbahr) Bought some classic MDs from him and they arrived this morning. Perfect! (except the import charge I got, not your fault) Danny was excellent, I'll definitely use him again if he has anything else that takes my fancy! Thanks again Danny. -Chris

Thanks Phillipe, So this will suffice: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Adam-Hall-Male-Audio-Cable/dp/B004BR2VJ6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1413884296&sr=8-1&keywords=2+x+rca+to+xlr ?

So I have a set of these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/M-Audio-BX5-D2-Powered-Monitor/dp/B005F3H6Q8/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1413879609&sr=8-2&keywords=bx5 (What a bargain they are at the moment!) The monitors only have a balanced XLR or 1/4" jack input. I'm looking for a suggestion on the best (and best sounding) way to get my JB-980 connected up to them? I can't seem to find a balanced 2xRCA to XLR cable.

I'm looking for some pre-rec MD's. I like rock/indie plus 80s or maybe even some classical? Will pay reasonable prices, not looking for anything rare, and I don't intend to sell them on. Any working condition considered. Let me know what you may have spare? P.S. I'm in the UK.

As title really, but where do you buy pre recorded MDs? I've obviously looked on eBay but where else? Charity shops? Cash Converters? I'm kind of hoping someone has an online shop, but can't find anything. Maybe I need to start my own up!

Report will follow, now the wait begins...............

Thanks for your suggestions guys. So I gave up on Hi-MD (for now) instead, I've got myself a Sony MD deck for £30, still new in box, which is nice. Also got a job lot of 3 portables, a N710 a NF810 and another for £30 which is also nice. Now to find some MD albums that I want to collect!

Firstly, Hello guys and gals! A bit about me: I bought my first Minidisc unit in 1999 at 14 with all my worldly savings, it was a JVC I bought from an acquaintance who needed the cash. He gave me a few blank and pre recorded MD's (One was Cypress Hill - Skull and Bones which I was most grateful for!) I used this for 2-3 years, copied most of my CD's to it - Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, QOTSA all my music of the time. The JVC was pretty good until I had a battery explosion, not in my pocket thankfully. I managed to clean it up and recouped £80 for it from cash converters, which I thought was a good deal for me as it didn't work perfect after that. I immediately took that money and invested in a Panasonic MR-200, which I though was the bees knees. The clear LCD screen on the remote with a blue backlight was the main attraction, I loved it! I also used it to record some band practice (we were rubbish) and used it as a dictaphone for some of my A-level studies, to great effect. In 2003, I joined the Air Force, bought an iPod with virtually my first pay packet (not a bad move) and also bought a Nokia N-gage (very bad move). I kept the iPod under lock and key and treated it like it was gold dust, I still have it and I think it's worth more than I paid for it new. But anyway the MD unit was still my preferred music standard, I believed at the time the iPod may have been a one off. So I bought a MD Mini hi-fi, cant remember the model but it was Sony. I loved that too but that had an unfortunate accident courtesy of an Army storeman, whom I still hate. At around the same time a roommate ditched his MD for an iRiver so I inherited his Sony player (from what I remember it didn't record, so I didn't like it.) But he gave it for free, so I accepted and then passed it on to my younger sister with some pop music on a few discs to keep her happy. Anyway, if you're still reading, after a horrendous break up with the ex wife, I was left with my clothing and my car so none of my tech survived. A few iPods/iPhones later I would like to give some love back to MD. So the questions are: Which unit should I buy? Portable preferred so I'm looking at the Sony RH1 which looks the nicest, but I'm reading that it has issues, especially as it ages? Where should I look to buy? I'm in the UK for reference. I never tried Hi-MD either so that would be a nice feature to have, is there any specific issues to note with it? Is SonicStage still the preferred transfer software? Is anyone running it from Parallels on a Mac? I look forward to sharing knowledge here, looking around this forum there is a lot of information, support and enjoyment for the MD. - Chris
