  1. I have the same problem and it's not sonicstage fault. I have songs with japanese character and that does appear on the player, however, there are still some songs that do not display properly, probably because windows itself can't translate it and make sonicstage can't translate it either.
  2. Okay thanks. I do have some CD's and do wish to rip them in atrac3plus format. Do you think I should go with advance lossless or 192kbps? Does the difference in sound quality justifies the extra storage space in advance lossless?
  3. Should I keep my music in mp3 format or convert them to atrac3plus? If i should convert to atrac3plus, should I use 256kbps or advance lossless? is there much different between the two bitrate? I guess my overall question is between the 3 formats, which one sound the best on nw-a806?
  4. I want to use Vaio Music transfer for my nw-a806, so my question is when you drag and drop an mp3 file, does the album art attached to the file get transfer onto the player too?
  5. My nw-a806 has arrived and I plan to update its firmware. Does the Asian-Pacific firmware compatible with the Canadian model?
  6. Thanks alot for that, antiipod, i really mean it. By the way, nice nickname
  7. These players are expensive because they are made in JAPAN have an all-metal body, not like those nw-s705 which is made from plastic and made in MALAYSIA. I have another one of these nw-ms90d, which is the only reason why I sell this one. I bought the other player and this one in 2003, and both are still full functional after 4 years.
  8. Uhhh, you need to do research first. The internal memory is 512 mb with expandable memory through memory stick duo. The body is made of titanium, very sturdy, good for using while exercising
  9. I am now willing to accept offers!

    DSP chip in nw-a808?

I've heard from somewhere that the nw-a808 features built in DSP chip (used in several sony PDA's) with low battery consumption and high quality audio playback. Can somebody confirm this?
  11. Bump for the great deal! Here are the pictures for those who are interested:
  12. Nice review DSP! it seems that i would have to go with the nw-a808 then. the player itself is very impressive, and it also comes with decent headphones. I have always been a fan of sony soundquality and style so it looks like i will continue the trend once more
  13. Hello Shinji, I have just solved the problem with my nw-e75 right now. It turns out that i need to insert the original installation CD that comes with the nw-e75 for the player to be recognized with Windows Vista. You mention that the driver for nw-a808 is also on the installation CD that comes with the player, so there is no problem then. Vista some how doesn't recognize your Walkman automatically so you have to manually install the driver by putting in the installation CD that comes with every Walkman. Thanks for your insightful reply though
  14. I'll look forward to it, thanks. One more problem i have identified: my nw-e75 is not recognized in vista (the driver does not install). Does Vista recognize the nw-a808 and install the driver automatically so that the player is recognize and you can copy music file via sonicstage as well as drag and drop music file into it?
  15. thanks for the quick reply! sonicstage really does support vista on my computer. guess i heard it wrong. the nw-a808 seems like a very decent mp3 player for me. and only thing left is how the nw-a808 compared to other recent mp3 players of other brand in term of sound quality (the yp-k5 of samsung, the clix of iriver, the d2 of cowon, etc.) can anybody comment on that?
  16. I'm seriously in love with the design and functionality of the nw-a808. However, there is a few question that i want to ask before buying: 1) how is the transfering music file from the computer to the player. The play supports mp3 format, so does this mean that i can drag and drop file easily, or does it need to go through sonicstage? (i'm using vista, which is not compatible with sonicstage so it's a big deal for me) 2) how is the equalizer? if i understand correctly, the player has a 5 band equalizer. is there any other sound enhancer tool come equiped with the player? also, for those of you who have a cowon d2, how does the d2 sound quality compared with the nw-a808? 3) how do you view video files? can you drag and drop files with compatible resolution and bitrate, or all video files have to go through image converter conversion? 4) how do you make album art appear on the player? can the player sync with windows media player 11 to get all the album art easily? thanks for all your future input!
  17. Hello guys! What i have here today is a like new, used very little, nw-ms90d. This player is in excellent cosmetic condition and include all original accessories. I even have the original box in excellent condition. To make it worthwhile, I even include 6 new genuine sony 128mb memory sticks (no separate packaging for the sticks though) for you guys to use and get started right away. What I'm looking for is about $99 along with shipping (about $5). If you're interested, visit this link from amazon.com where i list my auction: http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00...4879004-7464029 Thank you for your time! PS: In case you guys are wondering, amazon.com is a very secured site with wonderful protection. The website itself is also very popular and well-known, nothing fishy or anything like that. I just want a little security from selling on a popular site rather than a direct deal. For your information, i have purchased more than 5 items over there myself, all arrived as described! One more thing: these nw-ms90d are all sold out on ebay. There is no more of them. Some sites still sell them for at least $200. This mp3 player is becoming extinct, great for collectors! The sound quality is superb too when paired up with a pair of mdr-ex85sl Sorry guys, wrong link! the link is now corrected.
