  1. To further reduce my MD collection, my Sony MZ-EH70 portable player must be sold! I've replaced it with a Sony NWZ-A829 portable media player. As with all my equipment, it comes complete in original box with all accessories, and is in mint condition, with no blemishes anywhere. As a bonus, you have a choice of one the two MD cases shown below, a grey player only case or a black player and MD's case. Also available are the two earphones shown, the MDR-NX3 and MDR-EX90's, both in original Japanese packaging. Sony MZ-EH70 and 1 of the two cases (your choice of which one) shown $125 USD / $160 CAD Sony MDR-NX3's with bonus eartips $40 USD / $50 CAD Sony MDR-EX90SP's with bonus eartips $70 USD / $85 CAD Prices don't include shipping or paypal fees.
  2. Selling for $300 USD including the power transformer.
  3. I have one that I'm willing to part with. I bought it last february from price japan, and used it for playing in my bedroom through a Yamaha mini system and more recently a Denon one. I never used it to record discs, although I checked that it does record just fine! It has been sitting unused for a while now, since I moved my Onkyo XB8 into my bedroom and am using that instead. Besides, I think I am finally through with MD and Hi-MD after 12 years. I've pretty much lost interest, I'll still use MD's until my XB8 croaks, but won't be buying anymore units. I'm tired of imported units with voltage converters etc. I will also be selling my MZ-EH70 and MZ-RH1 when the time has come. I'm thinking $300 US for the MD-105FX. It is in flawless shape and comes with all accessories, manuals and box and packaging, and voltage converter. The only catch is that I'm off on holidays leaving on Friday and won't be back until February 8th, so I can send after that! Payment will depend on where you are.
  4. I thought of making a similar system, but found a closer match than the Denon you found.Cambridge Audio, the manufacturer of the speakers in my system, is coming out with some new midi-sized components that would be awesome match for the Onkyo MD-133.They are 270 mm wide while the MD-133 is 275 mm wide.Check them out. Here's the link: http://www.cambridgeaudio.com/series.php?SID=43
  5. Details and more actual pictures to follow very soon...
  6. This January Hi-MD will be 5 years old.I think it is high time to release higher capacity discs. You can now buy 16GB storage cards that are the size of a fingernail, so they could fit tons more storage on a Hi-MD disc, we're talking 10 -20 times as much.It would be nice to be able to be able to store lots of Cd's in WAV format on a single disc.I like to store an entire band's discography on 1 disc. This can be done easily with Hi-SP, but WAV would be way better. My entire a-ha studio album collection is all on one Hi-MD disc in Hi-SP, but it's running out of room, especially with their 9th album on the way...A Hi-MD full of albums in WAV would be amazing! It would also be nice to not have to keep importing Japanese domestic decks...
  7. I was looking for a matching case for my white Sony Digital Camera, and found a nice one, and then noticed that it will fit my MZ-EH70 also. Then discovered it will fit MZ-EH50 also and a lot of the colours are quite similar.
  8. The RM-MC40ELK comes in the spare parts box it originally came in. I paid almost $120 Canadian dollars for it from Sony spare parts, so I want $75.
  9. Hey thanks for your note, sorry for the slow reply, but i never got an email telling me i got mail here! anyways, the unit is in fact dark blue, not black. It was about $700 new here in 2003, not sure what it is worth now...make me an offer! In perfect shape! Jeremy
  10. Yes...tried it myself, it's awesome!
  11. I've decided to stop using MD for my portable uses, and go with a Sony 16G MP3 Walkman. It's the end of an era for me, since I've been using MD for portable sound since 1997. I've accumulated quite a bit of stuff over the years, so here' a list of items I want to sell. I'm hoping to see some reasonable offers from fellow members interested in some of my stuff. Sony CMT-M333NT micro system. This is an mazing system if you still use legacy or netMD.The m-crew software is way better than MD simple burner, it just doesn't do Hi-MD, if it did it would be perfect. If you use legacy MD this unit will change your life! M-Audio SCMS stripper for making endless digital copies! Sony MZ-EH70s Hi-MD portable player, bought last October! (available after I get my MP3 walkman in the next few weeks) Sony RM-MC40elk wired remote. (available after I get my MP3 walkman in the next few weeks) Sony Grey MD carrying case, fits either portable player I have. (available after I get my MP3 walkman in the next few weeks) Sharp MD-DS30 light blue portable MD player, with matching 4 pole earphones! Case logic portable MD player case.It has the Sony walkman logo on the zipper handles! I am extremely picky about how I treat my stuff. Everything I have comes complete in original packaging with all accessories.
  12. Looking to pick up a SONY Color Collection MD carrying case in Green, as shown in picture below. I'm hoping some members have one kicking around still in the packaging. They used to be regular items on eBay, from a Hong Kong based seller called Heidi Yeung.
  13. I wrote a post here a few weeks ago about creating this system, and it is now complete. It consists of the Onkyo MD-105FX deck, Yamaha RX-E810 Stereo Receiver, Yamaha DVD-E810 DVD/CD Player an a pair of Mordaunt-Short 902i Bookshelf speakers in Honey Maple. I got the speakers and Yamaha receiver at the stereo store where I work and ordered the Onkyo MD deck through price Japan.Let me say that Price Japan were on the ball.I ordered it last Thursday afternoon, and they had already shipped it less than 10 hours later.Incredibly, I picked it up last Tuesday afternoon. It only took 5 days to get from Tokyo to Vancouver, including the weekend. Unreal how fast it was.I lucked out also by avoiding any duty charges from Canada customs. I was hoping they would match a little bit better in looks. The three units stacked are exactly the same height as the speakers, down to the last mm.
  14. Yes you are correct i am the proud owner of an Onkyo XB-8.I have tried the peak search on it several times.I thought this was the solution to all my problems.Unfortunately all the results I got from it were pretty much useless.Loud tracks were still way to loud than others.I really want to use it but it just doesn't do what i hoped it would.Sad...
  15. I've been using the old fashioned method of recording from CD to MD for years now, in other words CD to MD digitally without computers or so forth.Lately I've become somewhat fanatical about recording levels being the same.Whenever I notice different volume level between albums I get annoyed and try to adjust it so it is perfect. My own ears are the judges and while I think they are pretty good, they can only go so far and of course you can only increase or decrease levels so much before they start to distort or and/or affect sound quality. With modern CD's being so absurdly louder than older ones, it has become impossible to get things exactly they way I want them.Needless to say this is very annoying and time consuming. Recently I discovered MP3gain and Wavgain and have been using them to see how accurate my ears are to an actual peak search program like them.I've been ripping my CD's in 256 Kbps MP3 and then analyzing them with MP3gain album mode.I then look a the album plus and minus values and make the necessary corrections to my digital recording levels in re-recording my MD's CD to MD.Once again though, it is still not possible in a lot of cases to get the values the same, due to clip indicators.I was trying to make a Phil Collins Hi-MD and his 2002 album is so ridiculously loud compared to his others, it is totally impossible to increase and decrease all of his various albums to get an even level without major clipping.I came up with the idea of letting the MP3 gain do its adjusting on the PC, and then transferring the results via USB and sonic stage to Hi-MD MZRH1, so i don't have to do any titleing. The problem I ran into with this is that MP3gain decreases all levels to achieve a uniform volume level. When you try to record back onto MD, the overall level is very level low, which sort of limits the output of modest portable MD headphone amps.I then thought of boosting the recording level back up to one that just peaks ocassionally at 0 db and recording that onto MD through my M-audio Transit USB to optical adapter. It is quite the rollercoaster process.Just wondering if anyone has done anything similar or am I the only one with this way of getting even sounding MD's.I'm worried that all this will result in poor sound quality. I think I will rip my CD's in Wav format into Sonicstage or WMP, instead of MP3.I will then get wavgain to even things out with it's album mode setting, and then record USB to optical onto Hi-MD and adjust all the levels up to about 0db and see how the results sound.I obviously won't lose anything through the WAV rip and wavgain claims it doesn't take anything away from the music in fidelity, so I'm hoping the results will be perfect in both level and sound quality! Now if only the Hi-MD would title itself this way.Any help or suggestions with this project are very welcome!
  16. I sold my first one yesterday! I would buy one myself if i had the cash! Imagine one of these with a built-in Hi-MD...the stuff dreams are made of...Let me know if you want one, Jeremy
  17. OK, so I've been trying to find a matching system for the Onkyo MD-105FX Hi-MD deck. http://www.yamaha.ca/av/Microsystems/MCRE810.jsp http://www.mordauntshort.com/summary.php?P...itle=Avant+902i
  18. Well my Topic title says it all, my simple burner software will play CD's but i get no sound. When i play CD's in WMP or SS i get sound no problem.i'm listening through the optical out of an M-audio Transit into the optical in on a Sony CMT-M333NT.Waht the hell is wrong! please Help me!
  19. We got this very cool Meridian "boombox" at work this week as a sample to see if we can become a dealer for it.I played around with it yesterday and have to say it is extremely cool. The best part about it is that the people who designed it must have been MD fans.It has a bunch of aux inputs, and you can go into the menu and edit the name of the Aux inputs. One of the names available on aux input 1 is "MD", very cool. It also has an 3.5mm mini optical input and output! For MD Fans out there this is your perfect companion to your portable MD recorder. It even plays DVD's! It is AC only no battery power, and is available in several finishes and is hand-made in England to very high standards. The fit and finish is spectacular. It is extremely attractive and has awesome sound. It has an 80W 2.1 sound system in it. Take my word for it, the sound coming out of it is really astonishing. It is crystal clear and has in incredible bass response for such a small unit. The only negative point about it is the price...hold your breath...$3000! Anyways, thought MD fans would be interested in it. We have one at the store I work at, and we have more on order in various colours.
  20. Wow! You sure put my collection to shame! Thanks so much for posting your collection of pics. That's quite the collection of things you have.I wish I could get my hands on a few of those.looks like you live in Japan, making it much easier to get more cool MD stuff.I especially like the complete MD colour collection you have.Come on members, let's see what else we can come up with and show it off!
  21. Mission accomplished! thanks so much SHARP AUVI DRESSED MAN! Pictures to follow!
  22. I just got my RM-MC40ELK remote and used it today for the first time with my MZ-EH70.It is a big inprovement over the RM-MC38ELK.The only bummer is the menu options are all in Japanese. If anyone knows how to change them , please let me know, since they are all in English when i plug in the RM-MC38ELK.Weird, you would think the player generates the characters, as oppose to the remote.I will post a pictorial soon for members to enjoy!
  23. I was wondering if anyone has one of these cases in green or if it exists in this color.I have only ever seen them for sale on ebay, by a woman in Hong Kong called Heidi Yeung. She appears to have a monopoly on them, since I can't find anyone else selling them or anything about them.
