The only new music I actually purchase is on Vinyl. I then make a back up of it on MD and CD for inclusion into my CD Megachangers. Robert Boy that sounded bad, No I do not pirate music. I actually use Rhapsody Music Service to stream audio when I am at work. Any new music I listen to at home is purchased on Vinyl if available, 2nd choice is then SACD or DVDA, then CD, if nothing else is available. Robert

I like the iPod comparison to HiMD. I am not only satisfied with my HiMD, but I also have non-NETMD and NETMD units I still use. As a foot note, my neiphew has a nice little setup in his car, (well he used to) iPOD, connected into his Alpine Head Unit, Until someone busted into the car took the faceplate to the head unit and got away with his iPOD,,,,, And not accounting for brains,,,,,all his music that he ever had, he moved to his iPOD and sold off the CDs,,,,, I had to rub it in,,,now see if you had a MD in the car,,,all you would have to replace was the MD unit. All rather interesting. Well, I use MiniDisc in my car via the AUX inputs. My Nephew, who has an IPOD, always marvels at my minidisc, mostly because of the capability of removable media. He has one of those IPOD adaptors for his car, and he says, that its almost useless other than charging his IPOD and having the signal coming thru the aux in to his head unit. He says its slower to react than the IPOD keypad, and while driving is almost impossible to keep out of the ditches while trying to find a song. He is using an Alpine head unit, and finds the display acceptable for normal radio/cd functions, but to try to find a song which is on the IPOD,,,well What do truckers say,,,,,Keep the shiny side up. So what does he do,,,,before he starts his car, he programs his IPOD manually to playlist play. Essentially the same thing I do with Minidiscs, but I can at least select which playlists I want to listen to by swapping in and out discs,,,which can be done one handed while driving. Robert

Hummm, I can actually make sense out of an HiMD Player unit, if in the wings, Sony plans on releasing a Component HiMD recorder. I ususally listen to my NetMD in the car via an FM Transmitter, so I really have no need for the recording or drag and drop functionality of a Recorder, at least when I am walking around or driving. So, a player does make sense in that manner. I actually find recording on my MiniDisc hand held unit to be rather ackward. I tend to use my Component unit to record most of my music to MiniDisc. As for MP3 compatibility, I could care less. Don't use MP3 at all. Robert

OK, 149.00 AUS for bundle 70.00 AUS for shipping 40 to 50 US for power conversion With todays conversion tables the AUS dollars convert to approx. 161.00 total then add the power conversion you at or above 200 US. for the MZ NH600. Plus you have to deal with international shipping back if the unit fails. I think I will wait. Not a bundle, but heck,,,, just for the convenience of being able to return unit to Target or send in to US repair is worth the lose of the bundle. Robert

I have a similar problem. I just rebuilt my desktop and put a fresh load of Windows XP on the machine. Installed Sonic Stage 3.1 and and the MP3 conversion tool. However, when I start the MP3 Converstion tool, it gives me the error - Sonicstage 2.1 or higher required, indicating that I have a lower level of Sonicstage. Remember this is a new build and a fresh load of Windows XP on a newly formated harddrive. Still looking for answers,,,, Robert

Another option for capturing Audio streams is Re-Play Music. This software gives you the option to record in the follwong formats: MP3 - 128k, 192k, 256k, or 320k WAV MP3 CD Audio CD I first capture the stream as MP3 320k or WAV then use Sonicstage to burn to my NetMD player. One handy feature is it uses CDDB to tagging when you record as MP3. Robert
