  1. Once again thank you for the posts, they are appreciated. At this point I have unplugged the remote and I'm completely ignoring it for a while. A440, with the unit completely shut off I held the Menu button in for 5 seconds and got a flashing "Display" and the only way to get rid of it was to press Menu once more which Canceled the request. Seikeden, yep...out of the box and onto the charger for 60 minutes. Once it was fully charged I began trying to access the Menu right away. I was particularly interested in getting to the REC Mode settings. Honestly, I was so indimidated by it the first night (friday) that I didn't do anything besides take everything out of the box. I would be very interested in hearing how you went about setting the menu mode? I'll look in the manual for that. (ahhh I see it at the top of page 27!)
  2. Page 36 of the manual..."Selecting the recording mode." 1. "While the recorder is stopped, enter the menu and select "REC Settings" - "REC Mode"" I can't get passed the flashing "In Menu" - I don't think that qualifies as entering the menu.
  3. Thanks for the post. Without touch the unit I try to access the menu on the remote and just get a flashing "NO TRACK" Without touching the remote, I try to access the menu by pressing Menu on the unit. That gives me a flashing "Display" when I try to navigate the menu on the unit I get a flashing "NO TRACK" or "Lap Time."
  4. nope, with the hold ON I jog and it stays at 00 00:00. With the hold OFF I jog and get the flashing "In Menu" x 5. press jog = flashing "In Menu" hold jog in = flashing "In Menu" jog up = flashing "In Menu" jog down = flashing "In Menu" I just want to access the menu
  5. I thought I played with the hold on both the unit and the remote, but let me go try that....
  6. I'm just wondering why i cant go anywhere if its "In Menu" like it says it is. jog up, jog down, hold jog in...nothing...it just flashes "In Menu" 5 times and goes back to 00 00:00. Is the unit suspose to keep flashing Display when you're "In Menu"? Ok I'll stop with the frantic multi-posting, I'm sure it gets a little annoying. Maybe I just need to walk away from it, have a beer and chill out. Just bummed about EITS, it was already a 50min drive to a 9:30pm show...I just don't even know if I want to deal with that if I can't pop the cherry on this beast. I hope I'm just being an idiot about something. I hope it's not damaged or malfunctioning. I've removed the battery twice.
  7. I hit Display on the remote... -7:56:30 REC Remaining 963.9MB Free Space
  8. hmm things aren't looking good for recording explosions in the sky to night...it's a shame because their taping policy is wide open =/
  9. I hit Menu on the unit, the unit starts to flash Display. I go to the remote to navigate the menu, jog once the back light comes on and In Menu starts to flash....flashes 5 times then goes back to showing 00 00:00. I go back to the unit and it's still flashing Display. I hit Menu again and CANCEL appears on the unit. I know I'm slow, but not this slow. I should be able to hit the Menu button on the unit and jog through the menu on the remote but I can't get passed the flashing In Menu on the remote. It won't let me go ANYWHERE.
  10. The MD screen is flashing "Display" and the remote is flashing "In Menu" then it goes back to: 00 00:00 --- with the battery and disc in the upper right I try to job to select my recording mode but the remote just goes back to flashing "In Menu" and will not let me jog anywhere or display anything. I have a blank disc in and it's set to the default Hi-SP Hi-MD mode. I don't mean to sound incredible stupid but I'm going through the manual and it's telling me to just jog to all of these menue options but it just flashes "In Menu" when I try to go anywhere. What am I doing wrong? I followed step by step with the manual but can get no where in the menu to do anything
  11. Thank you & sorry. Read through that faq before and somehow missed that very informative chart.
  12. How many minutes of PCM WAV audio can you get onto the 74 & 80 minute discs? my situation....I have one 1GB disc, but I want to record 3 shows in the next 3 days...that leaves no time to order 1gb discs online =/
  13. Sonic Studios DSM-6S/L --> PA-6LC2 pre-amp --> Sony MZ-NH1 Hi-MD I've finally arrived! I'm going to call some local Circuit City stores and see if they carry them, if that's the case I'll get some today. I have it charged up...but that's about it for now.
  14. honestly, I have no discs (music or live recordings) to play in it yet :wacky: I have the 1gb disc that it came with, saving it for explosions in the sky on saturday or the blood brothers on sunday. Haven't even charged it up to play with it yet....I let my buddy keep the few md masters I have recorded because they were made with his rig....so yeah I'm the lamer with a new unit and nothing to play on it hah. Should I charge it up and play with it?...I think I'll wait til I get a pack of 80min MDs saturday to do a lot of playing with it. I'm confident it's not damaged...just pissed ups left ~$400 worth of electronics on my door step in a plastic bag because it had began to drizzle! I need to look into places in minneapolis/st paul that sell the 1gb discs...
  15. cold as hell when I took it out of the package. would being outside in the cold like that damage the battery or another other components? I know I'm being paranoid but it's just cause I'm a proud new owner : )
  16. http://www.audiocubes.com/product_info.php...ate_banner_id=1 the Sony LIP-4WM Lithium Ion Electric Battery? found that link in the batteries thread. Battery and pre-amp are the next purchases. Is there a better place to get one? Edit: sorry, I'll stop making a thread for every question I have...quickly trying to pound out those newbie bugs.
  17. I know it can't be much but I will be getting a MZ-NH1 on thursday and recording my first show with it sunday, it comes with this battery. Will this battery record a 50min show? I do plan on getting a better battery. thanks for any help.
  18. I'm trying to do a search online, not having much luck and I haven't busted out the yellow pages yet. I apologize if this is in the wrong forum, I'm new and still looking around. a huge thanks for any help
