Much appreciated! I observed that the sound from the unit is now more "lively". I noticed it was a bit dead before, when compared to higher powered sources through my er6i's. Now it's sounding good, along with revealing some subtleties in the background.

Sorry for being dumb, but part of it is fear of effing up my NHF800. I successfully made it into service mode, then scrolled through the menus, but how or where do I go from there? I went to "audio", and setting 113, but I have scrolling numbers and can't change anything but the last letter. What to do?

I found it to be a big pain to use because it won't recognize single songs, it will only recognize my entire folder. So I just drag the songs I want into the Sonicstage and let it do the work. There has to be a better way.

I was wondering what kind to get and where from for something inexpensive. What I have also noticed about headphone amps is that they don't necessarily increase volume levels, but they will improve definition. I recently noticed that the sound on my 800 kind of sucks when I played the same music through a really bad cmputer connection and despite the background noise, the sound was brighter.

What Happened To The Himd Recorder Hack Thread?

Appreciated. I hope some developments were made because I'd love to get more features out of my 800. -
Or you can buy it on Ebay for $30 less.

About $80 for the E2's and I can get the E3's for about $120-130. Go on Ebay. There are also some local dealers who are trying to get rid of their stock pretty much everywhere, as I've found out.
-
It looks like I've decided on the E3. Partically on more recommendations, as well as the price factor. They can be had for just a few dollars more than E2's. It seems to be a worthwhile jump for a bigger difference in performance compared to what I'm using now.
-
Now I'm looking into Shure e3's and I was wondering how much resistance is the most I should go with a minidisc portable rated at 5mw. The E3's are 26 ohms vs. 16 for the e2's and Etymotic Er6i's. Would the extra ten ohms cause a significant reduction in volume output?

People have had issues with Paypal charging previous people you've had transactions with if they can't get their money from someone else. It's scary, but very much true. I don't know how legal it is and how they get away with it. I'm waiting for banks and CC companies to get a program together. It's only a metter of time until they offer payment services.

You guys are missing the first thing to do, which is to contact the seller. One can not go ahead with any action before speaking to the seller. If they are unwilling to comply then you threaten them with negative feedback and then go to ebay and paypal. Getting your money back from the CC-Paypal transaction won't work because you contracted Paypal to charge your credit card, which they did successfully. You can't have those charges reversed. You must follow the proper protocol first before they'll assist you and that involves speaking to the seller and saving those conversations.

Yeah, essentially speaking, the home and car decks that are still being made are throwbacks to four and a half years ago. A better idea to compete is to make a USB connection on the car decks that will allow iPod or MD connection. Alpine is already offering an iPod connection on some of their head units, as well as those made for BMW are offering it factory stock. Just like digital inputs became standard, the home units should offer USB inputs for this purpose.
