  1. Maybe the Sennheiser MX series? 300 and up sound very nice for what they cost.
  2. Well, I'm studying now at the University of Amsterdam, so I suppose that could account for the slight increase of head-mass. Try CTRL-F5
  3. For certain Dutch (which I used) and I'm pretty certain German and French too.
  4. Are skins not compatible with every version? Do you need to get/buy everything again when upgrading the software?
  5. I've switched back too btw. Don't care much for Halloween, as does most of the rest of this country. BTW, when will the old skins (or new skins) be back? I'm dieing for that old grayscale minimalistic skin. And maybe put the extra languages back in while the administrator is at it?
  6. Here's a small sample. Thanks for testing! test.mp3
  7. A remote is better than no remote. I mainly need it to adjust volume and skip tracks when on the move. Thanks for the answers by the way. Another question: does it support mono MP3 files?
  8. Will there also be a Sinterklaas theme?
  9. And more importantly: will it be compatible with at least the 2nd generation of HiMD units?
  10. My dear fellow Europeans, I have a few question before I might purchase one of these. Please answer only if you are 100% certain (for example when you own such a unit). The RH10 appears to have a remote included. What about the RH910? Does the devices play MP3's with bitrates lower than 32kbit? Is there background noise/static on these units (like a soft ffffffffff)? Perhaps only when you turn up the volume, or is it just absent? I currently own a Sharp MD MT190, how much lower (after 'hacking') are the maximum volumes of these devices? Thanks in advance!
  11. Does it resample (eg what is the frequency of the signal reported bij digital hardware?)?
  12. Lame has encoded gapless for a looooong time now, so that's not really an argument. And Atrac is not better than MP3, you think it is.
  13. Perfrom a search for Atrac on hydrogen.org in the listening test forum to find out what others think...
  14. Please, rip in a lossless compressed format, at least you'll be saving 45% space and be able to tag. Use WMA Lossless if you wan't compatibility with SonicStage.
  15. I just returned my NW-HD1 which I bought this monday. In itself a nice device and a sleek dock, but the audio/interface end of it all werent in no way up to my (budget) MD device, Sharp MT190. Also it 'felt' very fragile. I can just toss my Sharp on the floor and it won't even skip. Perhaps it's the Sony-factor, but it just may be that HDD-players are not for me. I've been eyeing an iPod Nano for a while, maybe when the precies drop a little. Too bad they too don't 'feel' solid in your hands like MD-player do and the very short and unextendable battery-life. MD units seem (and pretty much are) indestructable.
  16. With aoTuv's latest enhancements OGG Vorbis is outperforming, in listening test after listening test, low bitrates, middle ones and high bitrates, other codecs tested, among which Lame, AAC (Nero), MPC and sometimes Atrac3+. It appears Vorbis is the best lossy codec alive. And it is even gapless.
  17. Absolutely nothing. Since MP4 is a container format used primairily for the audio codec 'AAC', I presume you refer to the latter. It's a thing you can best check yourself, altough the concensus seems to be (not necessarily on this forum) that Atrac3+ is one of the least interesting codec's today.
  18. Are UMD's nekkid on the backside?
  19. I think it's kinda cool But then it must be tiny! A small iPod-sized MD-player weighing 250 g, what's kooler than that
  20. Sony is making the wrong decision. Sony is stopping MD before all those things you mentioned in your post have been realized. That's plain stupidity.
  21. http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=12380
  22. Atrac is by far the least interesting aspect of MD. NOFI, but if you keep you're master-copies in Atrac, that's not particularly smart...
  23. Not everyone comes home to his iPod-dock every night. Especially on vacations, a big battery and/or a screw on AA-compartment is very convenient.
