  1. Awesome stuff! Just what a shame about the it's remote dependance and lack of DCin. Seams it has the same drawbacks as the NH1 plus one more... lack of three-line remote.
  2. Sorry, my bad. It's just the buttons on the side looked a lot like track skip to me. Yeah, and it would be a lot cooler if that base thing had a minijack, so you could plug in anything.
  3. Too bad they come with thier own mp3 player. Otherwise, Awesome!!!

    COWON

Has anyone tried recording with Cowon HDD and flash players? I was looking into them as an alternative for my less important recordings. Of course, I would need a pre-amp to use external mics.
  5. I can't seem to import CDs to SS in 352 either. So what's the only option? ATRAC Lossless? 352 looks so "after-thought-ish" to me. AAL isn't available in 352... Simple Burner doesn't support it... Can't import CDs in 352...
  6. I can't seem to find it. Is it possible or do I have to import the CD to SS, to convert it to 352kbps?
  7. How about Hi-SP+? But, why do we really need a name? I mean, we don't have one for 48k ATRAC+... But it could be something like Hi-LP-...
  8. Is it just me, or the new players look "iPod-ish"? Hope Sony releases some new recorders, soon, with mp3.
  9. Thanks a lot, guys. I'm very pleased that the staff chose my design as the winner. I would like to congratulate everyone for their entries, as they were very, very cool. Thanks.

    Hi-MD, Bye-MD?

I feel betrayed. It's a very sad day for all MD fans. I just hope some other company will "adopt" and further develop MD. All what's left to do is wait, wait, until my NH1 dies a slow and painful (for me) death. In reality, MD is light years ahead of competition, if you could even call it that, at least for pro and semi-pro uses. Basically, MD is dieing before it reached maturity, before the days of glory it deserves without a doubt. R.I.P.
  11. Thanks a lot, greenmachine. I just have one question. Can I use the battery module with the Microphone Madness MM-MCSM-4 mic?

    ATRAC3plus 48kbps

I use 48k a lot for speech and audiobooks. Sometimes, I just use HiLP if the source quality is really bad, so transcoding doesn't affect it so much.
  13. BTW, I have a question that has been bothering me for quiet a while. HDDs are delicate stuff, so what happens when you drop a HDD player? Or does it have some special protection stuff?
  14. I could buy 60, 80 ,or even 150 Hi-MD, if I need to. Isn't that a real fact? Plus, I can sort recordings, without the risk of having everything wiped out at the same time. Hi-Sp sounds very good to my ears, and I preffer it to most mp3. Maybe some of the peaople who own HDD players could answer me this question: can you listen all 60G in one session? One (or two, at most) Hi-MDs are enough for me for several days.
  15. The truth is, most people care more for the price tag more than for the sound quality. I find HDD player (and flash even more so) a compleatly limited format. I mean, 60 GB is not that much, it's only ~90 hours in wav, and I'm not very fond of using 128kbps mp3. One thing I heard from a guy just after I bought my MZ-NH1 last year, almost made me cry. He looks at it, with the pitifull look you normally give the $20 64MB flash players, and says: "Oh, why did you buy that, you should've bought an i-POD. It's so good, I can put over 10,000 song in it, and it sounds better than CD-Quality". Just how I'm I supposed to explain to a person who believes so blindly in commercials, that he can't distiguish between a "only for subway or bus" player and a top-of-the-line Hi-MD?
