no need to be rude about it, fact is, the 700 series isn't available in most areas around the world, and even where it is, the recording cable isn't, i've not seen it on sale in canada yet. so i wouldn't expect the people that own one to have the recording cable.instead, you could have asked if anyone else had one and if not mentioned, that you could provide a general run down of what the cable can and cannot do.

interestingly enough as of today, the 600s on sonystyle canada are now available in january 2007! the 5th of january to be exact. either sony sold out, or no shipment arrived?

either it was sold out already, or delayed, the 700 4gig versions at sonystyle canada now say arrival november 23rd.

walkman_junky, could you possibly do speed tests for transfer of files? I am curious if it is usb 2.0 or 1.1

well we someone who reads fluet french and can read the review and translate. they mention though rate of transfer in the cons part and also give figures for transfer times
4Mo in 19s, is 0,2Mo/s
62Mo in 55s is 1,13Mo/s
166Mo in 175s is 0,9Mo/s
unless the person was using usb 1.1 and didn't know it.

if the music is DRMed then I can't see myself buying it, plus if it is under 320 quality, won't touch it either. watermarked music I'll buy, but not DRMed. also depends on price and whether they will take paypal since that is how I buy my music now a days.

thx! Another question: I know the A3000 plays ATRAC3 files gapless. What about wma, aac and mp3 files? I know the new iPod can play aac and mp3 gapless...
no mp3 gapless on the a series, but wma gapless will play on the a series, look for the firmware 3 thread somewhere, I believe I did a test of wma and wma gapless and gapless worked for wma.

the entire cable between the ear buds is fine, the part that busted apparently is where it enters into the soft silicone tube on the ear bud, the long tube i mean, it feels flimsy on one ear bud while normal and stiff on the other. i'll have to do with the phones that came with my a series. XD

well after a bit more than a year of use, uhm 1 year and 8 days to be exact, the left ear piece died and the phones are no more. now i gotta either wait and buy the new flash player or new phones.

samsung makes the zune i believe, so maybe it is based on something samsung was making and they abandoned or possibly a larger capacity mp3 player samsung has coming later next year? not sure though.

hehe, the manual isn't that important. I thought the recording cable would have come with the device, apparently not, pity. ya pcm is not supported in CP and neither is the lossless like u mention, but i only use wavs rarely and stick to 320 mp3 and the quality is golden on my a series so have no need for lossless. thanks for the info, since i never liked SS and it didn't work once i upgrade to version 3 or 3 point something for my MD, then got CP and haven't looked back.
uhm let me see here, can u delete songs off the player using the player, or do u still need the software to do that? like with the a series?
playlists, how easy or quick is it to flip thru them? again no playlists on the player right? have to use SS to transfer them?
how comfortable is it to use and hold? as well is there a place to attach a lanyard?

stupid question, does it work with connect player? is there a pdf manual you could maybe post? if you have that is. can you test out the recording function? like from a radio line out or something along those lines?

Interesting tidbit, the new EX71s i just picked up have completely different materials for the cables. the quality is way better than my previous set, with the covering more harder and less rubbery. I guess sony realized more than average returns or breaks prompted a change in production.
