  1. I agree, if you are looking to get into MD, choose Hi-MD. Try looking around more, I was lucky enough to score my MZ-NH600D for $70.01 from Target hmmm..... I think they mismarked it!
  2. I use Ipodder to recieve the daily feeds (no Itunes installed, if Itunes is installed, and not primary media player, you can rename the itunes executable to keep it from opening each time your run Ipodder), then i use Windows Media Player to build M3U (playlist files) by sorting for only 'New Files' that were added after the previous day. Which means all new files Ipodder downloads, automatically get listed for me to nab a premade playlist This is about the end of the automation right here, but at least all I have to do is Save the playlist with a name I like, then save the playlist, and import it into SS. Then from SS, I burn it up. Makes recieving podcasts a lot better.
  3. Actually, if I am not mistaken, I believe the Hi-MD is incapable of comming prerecorded. http://www.minidisc.org/hi-md_faq.html#_q91
  4. I like to use the NH600D, simply because I don't demand all the feature from a higher model. I think that Sony not only left it uncrippled, simply because of the $$ factor, but also because it is what we wanted on ALL MD players. Allowing back and forth traffic (although there are roadbumps) allows us to use the player as more then a cheap alternative to either the iPod or a Flash player, but a solid way to manage your music, and a great way to listen to it.
