  1. but i fear thats the only solution for now and still, the nw-e00x reloads incredibly fast
  2. problem solved for anyone who will encounter the same problem: change the usb power setting on your player from 500ma to 100ma
  3. Recently I managed to screw up all my usb ports of my laptop, so i bought a pcmiaa card with 4 usb slots on it to put in my pci-slot of my laptop. Everything works fine, exept one thing: my nw-e003. When i put it in one of the usb slots of the pcmiaa card, my laptop(windows xp pro) just completely blocks, i can't move the mouse or anything, it just blocks (pbb cuz the cpu is in a loop). Anyway, does someone know the solution to that? Or seen this problem before, cause now I cant put any new music on my player .
  4. Yes they are sadly, it's because sony uses their own format for author protective measures, meaning it's used as protection for the contents of music, so it won't be copied that easely (--> so people won't share music with eachother by using the mp3player). It's a pain in the ass, I know, Apple/Ipod also does that policy, but they have better software for using it. Let's just say, in these days big companies only demand one thing, big money and so you'll get these crappy situations like special mp3playersoftware and patheticly overprotected software. But there is some good news : http://www.atraclife.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2075 Void is making a little program (it works now) where you just have to drag and drop, instead of making playlist, moving everything in the damn library and other crappy situations sonicstage loves to get you in . Ah and as for the voucher: if it's for ATRAC music, then it's ok, if it's for MP3/wmas, then it's ok too, however if it's an itunes voucher, then you're better off selling it. Hope that'll help ya
  5. Void, u sure you're gonna do all of this on your own? Cause it's a bit harsh letting you do all of this on your own (most likely cause it's timeconsuming).

    NW-Exxx Volume Hack

did that, didn't hear any difference
  7. I must say..impressive And nice to put the source on later, i might suggest the ppl here who can program (I can do a bit of C++) help on the project, so there is a program which is good enough to beat sonicstage (at least the positive aspects of Sonic)

    NW-Exxx Volume Hack

The steps are: Menu --> advanced menu --> sound --> custom EQ (trying to remember out of my head, but i think that's the one, and if there isn't a custom EQ option, then scroll around the different soundoptions, one of em is the one you need ) The option you where in is the choice of the build-in equalizers: bass, jazz, ... and offcourse the custom one).
  9. The best thing to do (and for now the only thing) is using playlists in sonicstage and putting them on your player, since the crappy software indeed tends to screw up the album/song order. Sry, but we must wait for a decent version to come out of sonicstage..
  10. I think these are made for the NW-E00X only, so try the software at own risk. Ah and void, I have a little question, which programming software did you use for it? Because if it's C/C++ I think a user interface can easely be made using C#
  11. well, you can't do much without the blueprints, since you need these to know the maximal outcoming DB and the IC types (which are sony's) for the firmware updating. Or go to hardware dissasemble, which takes a lot of time. So yea, service manuals are nice to have too here, if someone has em.
  12. I doubt that there is anyone here that doesn't know the equalizer Ps: for best sound (personal thoughts) try +3(or lower for own taste) 0 +1 +3 +3 And about distortion, there isn't . Allthough the bass seem to take over the higher frequencies on higher setup

    Got a working NW-E003

TrekStor , even the name is making it funny. But i know what you mean, I had a Thompson before my sony and yea, it did sound like crap too
  14. no prob, and for the amplifiers, try http://www6.head-fi.org/ <-- this forum am sure the people there can recommend good amplifiers

    NW-Exxx Volume Hack

yea, reset works, pity that it also does what it must do, reset everything
  16. The Code for the player has already been put here (hold on, press and hold the play and menu button, then push reset while holding, wait 2 seconds). However It's doubtfull that the flashplayer actually has a limit unlock. What you can do is buy a mobile amplifier, which amplifies the signal coming out of your player towards your headphones. I also still hope there is another way, but I think I'll just give up on it.

  18. well, you can get it here, but the fee is 10 dollar, so if anyone really has the need for it : http://www.icxinyi.com/EN/zlsearch.php

    Got a working NW-E003

If you put the player on pauze/stop with the play button, it will turn itself off after 5 sec
  20. Hmm normally the hardware designs of nowadays have 1 firmware that controls all the hardware, so normally the update should update all the mp3players "software".
  21. Thank you very much Little question though, does this asian version remove the european sound limitation?
  22. It's such a good thing with sonys that what the software lacks in stability, the hardware has in robustness
  23. does anyone have a link to the asian firmware 2.0 of the nw-e00x, because after a long search through the japanese sony site I couldnt find it (mostly thanks to my lack of the japanese language ). Thanks,
  24. If you still have a warranty for your player then bring it asap, else let it be repared in a shop. The overheating comes from too much amperes trough a component in your player (thanks to a broken resistor or faulty diode). Anyway, don't use the player now, because when you let it on, itll get overheated and it will damage itself. Just bring it in en let it be repared, thats the best advice I can give you (repairing it yourself is hard, because you don't have the blueprints for that model ).
