This is a Idea i have Would you not like to have a Hi-md walkman with Tactile Buttons (just moving fingers over a Flat surface) I am not talking about Membrane technology but real Heat-sensor that detect finger movement making no need for any buttons This technology (Seen on Startrek) has alredy been used in some things like Vitroceramic Cooking plates, A Olympus mp3 player and now a LG Mobile phone. Is realy Nice design, i though this can be used in a Minidisc Recorder. Here is a photo of Mp3 player and Mobile phone with Heat sensor Goodbye Buttons: (be aware that the image is in noway trying to advertise for Mp3 players) I know Sony can do some realy nice design sometimes maybe they can try Heat-sensor flat-buttons on a Md unit. If just Sony was reading this, it would be a great idea to use. Also SONY may have the Heat-sensor technology Just look at the Playstation 3 buttons why not add such buttons to a Minidisc walkman? With a heat-sensor panel, which is part of the minidisc much of buttons problems (Caused by dust or tired units) can be solved. Yes, people have to get used to this, but is easy if you just learn it. (You can practice with you vitroceramic cooking plate , it has such buttons I just though it would put the idea out there if any Industry (specialy SONY) can use it, feel free to do so. My Suggestion is when releasing a Minidisc with Heat-sensor buttons to do Big Advertising about the design to make people run to the shop and buy it. A Very fantastic design mixed with Advertising would be perfect income for a company (such as Sony). My suggestion is make the Minidisc unit either Black or Silver make the Heat-sensor Tuch buttons lights either Blue or red (if you can change between several lights it would be even better) Let me know what you think of the idea?

I need a remote for Mz-n910 mine is broken i dont care if is used only if is Fully working as cheap possible. I also need a Battery atachment the one i have seem to be broken it wont atach anymore so i need a new one is also for Mz-n910 Dont care if is used or new but it most be fully working and if is used it must not be too old so it will work atleast a year. I can pay with Paypal (the best option) I can also send the money enclosed inside a Audiotape (money wont get detected since tape is magnetic) i can send it with Registred airmail But i prefer Paypal is fast and safe.

This year i will upgrade from Net-md MZ-N910 to Hi-Md and i need to decide between MZ-RH10 Orange or MZ-RH1 MZ-RH10: MZ-RH1: So far i believe RH10 is better because: It look much nicer, big display and nice design + the golden/orange is beautiful RH1 does not display trackname on the unit, i dont like this also it look too classic for my taste. The good thing with RH1 is it plays Mp3 realtime (althrough it need sonicstage) So the big question is what to get Also it seem Rh10 is discontinued if so then i probaly get it cheaper another +++ for me thats it if i can find it anywhere (i am in spain, yea and the orange is just for japan) Now i got some important questions: 1. Is recording in SP-mode with my MZ-N910 net-md very Poor quality compared to recording in fast-mode with it? most mp3 is 192kbps , do i loose a lot of quality recording in sp-mode (using sonicstage) ALL recordings i have done so far is Sp-mode, because i have a MD-boombox that only read sp-mode recorded MD I cannot hear difference in a Mp3 played on computer and a SP-mode recording from a 192kbsp mp3 on a MD Should i stop recording in SP-mode because (and if) is poor quality? 2. Since i love the Old Sonicstage 2.2, 2.3 (i dont like the Sonicstage 3 serie its too complicated) Can i use Sonicstage 2.2 or 2.3 for MH-1 or MH10 ? 3. I heard RH10 cannot record in Sp-mode, but sonicstage has Sp-record mode can i still record in sp-mode using sonicstage and RH10 or will i then loose a lot of quality? as i said before i already use my net-md MZ-N910 and record sp-mode using sonicstage 4. Where is the best place to buy a orange RH10 if is discontinued where can i get it, except of ebay? (most be from someone that acept paypal and i prefer pay in us dollar) 5. Is there Any Boomboxes or Hifi (Except of hi-md) that plays MD (not hi-md) that is transfered in high-speed (non- sp mode) as i said my Sanyo Md-4u boombox only play Sp-mode recorded Md so any other known boombox or hifi that plays this, or do i need a Hi-md hifi for this (i dont need to play Hi-md on the hifi/boombox just normal MD but recorded in a mode that is not SP) All help considering this is realy apreciated ,thanks. I do know the RH10 design look more modern with 3 line display but the new RH1 is told to be much better. But, does the RH1 not display the trackname on the display unit it has only 1 line but can you read the name of the song? recording level on display i dont care about what i need is the Trackname being displayed on the unit because: 1. I never write the name of songs on the Blanks MD card 2. I sometimes not use the remote. If the name is not displayed on the unit then i have a Big problem. meaning i have to go around with the remote all the time. and if remote on RH1 break then i am doomed. Please tell me there is someway to get the trackname displayed on the 1 line display of the RH1 unit? if not, do you suggest me get a RH10 instead? The choice i have is: SONY RH-10 SILVER (Price for 300 euro but they can give me more discount lowering the price): OR... SONY RH-1 BLACK i can get it with discount here in spain for 300 euro. I got an email from Koss they told me to Return the Broken koss to Europe and they will give me a new koss headphones for Free from Usa hope thats true if so is nice

I also called the Bank today and they Realy charge me much to make a cheque in 7 Us dollar for Koss Return-fee they want a about 12 Us dollar in Comission so totaly i have to pay 20 Us dollar to send the 7 us dollar to Koss. apart of this i have to pay about 12 Us dollar to send the headphones with Registred airmail Total that would be about 32 Us dollar.

I Now finaly contacted Koss spain (i was going to contact them today) I said i need my koss headphones repaired on warranty I got this reply: What kind of headphones. When i told it was KSC-35 they said They was too old and it was probaly may fault broking them. (yea right, Very nice ) Then they said they need reciept I then told them Koss dont need this since KOSS have lifetime warranty. Koss spain representive said that i could try Sending the headphone to them But there was ANOTHER PROBLEM: My headphone is purchased in USA and KOSS dont have Global warranty they said so i have probaly to send them to USA or Call Koss usa and get them to pay for the repair. I called KOSS-EUROPE in switzerland to confirm this. Koss Official factory in Europe told me that This "LIFETIME WARRANTY" was NOT Global So since i purchased the headphones in USA it MUST be repaired in USA. This ofcourse get more expensive. Now i have to Contact Koss USA which already told me contact Koss Spain to tell they dont want to repair them because Warranty is Not Global and that Koss europe also told me to call them. Very Nice Koss Lifetimewarranty hype

I will see what Koss spain (which is a distrubuitor only) say on Monday and then i will proceed contacting Koss europe or Koss Usa depending on the solution (if they cant solve it). Is good i dont need reciept so i will not mention it even I will just tell them they was new when i got them and i have used them well which also is true. And that i want the Ksc-35 repaired not remplaced. I update the thread on monday

I dont know if this is the correct place to post it but i give it a try: Yesterday when walking down the street suddenly the right ear headphone Ksc-35 stopped working when moving the cable a bit it worked a bit again So it seem the usual cable problem that headphones have. Im lucky to still have a working Ksc-75 but they dont sound so good since KSc-35 is tighter to the ear. But where should i now get Ksc-35 Koss.com dont have them for sale longer on their web (by the way im in europe) I am thinking about getting the Ksc-35 repaired problem i dont have a Reciept (neither do i find the warranty card) Koss.com told me i have to contact Koss Europe and that i wont need reciept since they have Lifetime warranty. I Emailed Koss Europe in switzerland and they gave me phone number to Koss spain so i called them today. Koss Spain told me they recived a email about my case from Koss usa but told me Koss headphones if they have been used was NOT covered by lifetime warranty only if they havent been used. IS that correct? and if so whats then the point with lifetime warranty only a marketing joke? Koss spain told me they would study my case on monday and tell me if headphones are covered on not (without even having my headphones in their hands) So I have some questions: ========================= 1. Do Koss Repair Ksc-35 or will they force me to upgrade them to Ksc-75 or other? I need Ksc-35 not another Ksc-75 what to do? 2. Can i use the lifetime warranty without reciept? 3. How should i send them the headphones is it ok with Registred airmail? and HOW do i pay them the 6 Us dollar return do i put it inside the airmail envelope? 4. Should i just better send them directly to Koss usa instead of Koss spain so i be sure they repair them and on warranty? 5. Alternative should i just get another Koss ksc-35 problem i cant find them anywhere (i have paypal but not credit card) (and i want new ones not used) Any suggestions apreciated.

Ok I have been using Sonicstage 2.2 for my Netmd but after formating i jumped to give Sonicstage 3.3 a chance. But so far i am more disapointed than happy with the program. i mean is much more dificult to use and for me i dont see ANY advantage with it. In sonicstage 2.2 I used Created easy a Album folder and dragged ALL my song at once to it. In Sonicstage 3.3 i have to do a LOT (and i mean a lot) to transfer some songs. 1. Create a New dynamic playlist folder (which for no reason is full of all other old songs already in database) 2. Click smale create playlist button on the right 3. click One old song that already exist in the database in the New dynamic playlist folder on the left 4. transfer it to the Playlist window i opened on the right 5. Now a new album folder finaly apear in the Playlist window (where i want It) Thats the only way i found to could move songs in my playlist (this i cant do in dynamic playlist) 6. Now i have to Drag songs into the new playlist folder ONE BY ONE (Geeeeeeeez) highlight all song in a pc folder and drag them at once Just drag ONE song It wont work dragging a Whole folder also, so i have to drag ONE BY ONE and its also slow dragging a song. I mean come an I know Sony is not The king of softwares, But This is ridiculous maybe i am doing it the wrong way but for me this is much worst that Sonicstage 2.2 When i dragged songs in Sonicstage 2.2 i just dragged all song at once and it dindt took a while and i had all songs in the only existing playlist which i fast and easy created. Ok i think i can live with the tedious and complicated Creating dynamic playlist system but How do i Drag all songs at once from pc to a folder created in Playlist? Should i just uninstall this Time-consuming stuff and install Sonicstage 2.2 again And if i should how do i uninstall or downgrade properly from sonicstage 3.2 to 2.2 on Windows Xp - Sp2. Incase i should keep Sonicstage 3.3 (i dont know why, i dont see why is better than 2.2 for me) I have another question: I choose to transfer SP so it can play on my Minidisc boombox too But i dont want to transfer in the new 320kbps mode if i transfer using SP mode and the mp3 has 192kbsp and 128kbps will it detect automatic and transfer 192 or 128 kbps because i dont want it to transfer in the new 320kbsp mode i have no use for it. (i just have a Netmd no Hi-md yet) Ok any help is apreciated I need a FAST way to transfer my music. I Usualy make Minidisc with Mixed artist on which i SORT with the best song first and the worst last (so i have to sort manually) So i have to make a new folder each time i transfer songs and i want a fast way of dragging all my songs into a plalyst folder NOT one-by-one-song-thingy (I Already has Folder created with mixed artist on pc before i create in sonicstage) Sony realy made it time-consuming for me with SS 3.3

Minidisc is the best thing Ever created and as some already know i am a Minidisc blanks collector. right now i have a Sony MZ-N910 Minidisc walkman and a Sanyo 4U MD orange battery boombox. In 2006 I am planning get more Minidisc equipment and have thought a bit about Which. First i thought about Hi-md with camera , but hey with all those Digital Camera around who want a Minidisc with camera. I already have a Watch with digital camera which quality compared to digital camera is poor. Camera-minidisc would also be easyer to break. So then i though about MZ-RH10: The Golden version is Terrific and i love it. But, Do i realy Need Hi-md walkman. As a Minidisc collector i love to have many different blanks in the pocket and Swap them after choice a Axia, Tdk, Daiso or whatever cool blanks i put in. Hi-md blanks i would ONLY use to record Double Cd -albums and Cds that have songs over 80 min. This mean that most of the time i will just use Hi-md for Regualary Md. Considering there is many Cool Net Md out there, should i instead try get a Cool Sharp or Kenwood Net md instead of a Sony Hi-md ? I remember Sharp had those Minidisc walkman with 2 colors on the Remote but i dont think it was Net-md I need NEtmd atleast since ALL music in transfered from Mp3 . I am planning to buy a Hifi either with Hi-md or more probaly with Netmd i could also buy a Md deck which record great sound compared to Md walkmans. My questions is : 1. Should i buy a Net-md instead of Hi-md ? 2. If i buy Hi-md would MZ-RH10 be the best of the best? 3. if i buy Net-md from Sharp or kenwood which one ? 4. Does Hi-md walkmans of today have better Sound quality than MZ-N910 5. Does Hi-md walkmans have any improvement using normal Minidisc ? As we all know Hi-md is NOT catching on (So far) Now Minidisc when released in 1992 also took 3-4 years until it realy catched on in Japan so maybe is too early, or maybe Hi-md is doomed. Net-md is NOT doomed there so many users in Japan that have a normal Md player I dont think MD will die soon, Hi-md can . This make me think that The future in Minidisc dont lies on Hi-md but Net-md you can get from a good price. Also i am a BIT tired of just using one brand "Sony", i would prefer get another brands such as Sharp , kenwood or even Panasonic. Hi-md is just Sony for Portable marked. Now the Golden Sony MZ-RH10 do look pretty i must admit but Sharp and kenwood also had many cool players problem is most of them is just MD not Net-md. I think for This year I will keep using MZ-N910 and then get either a Hi-md or a Kenwood /Sharp Net-md in 2006 but imported from Japan to Europe since it dosnt suffer of sound limitation like Walkmans sold in Europe is. A friend that likes Mp3 players thinks Minidisc is very obsolete and i am trying to convince him that Minidisc Rocks I Need answers on Some questions i hope you can help 1. I readed somewhere a Hi-md walkman with 80hours battery exist if this is true what is the name of this modell, and can you give me some expert test that provees this 2. Is Atrac3 sound (the one used in Hi-md today) Better than Any Mp3 players? For example better than wav or aiff (i belive mp3 player use?) if Atrac3 is better do you have a test that can prove this 3. Is it true Minidisc is the only one transfering digitally , and mp3 players dont if this is true explain how? 4. Has OGG more quality than Mp3 in atrac 3 ? 5. Is FLAC format (used it Cowon X5 portabel mulitmediajukebox) better than Atrac 3? 6. Is it True Sony will Drop Sonicstage and from Desember you can conect Minidisc players like an mp3 player and Drag-and-drop function just like mp3 players ? 7. If you know other things that is better with minidisc than Mp3 players let me know

I know you can use All types of Md-disc in the Himd recorders. Yea i know Hi-md is better , but still SONY have use lot of ressources on HiMD when NET-MD still had their Loyal users , but ofcourse is cool having 1GB discs specially for long journeys and double-albums. But if you have a MD and mostly use it for 80 min recording then i see no need in updating just yet thats what i mean

I am a Minidisc Blanks Collector and are worried about Sony killing Minidisc. I have owned 3 Minidisc walkmans, 1 Minidisc deck and 1 Minidisc Orange sanyo boombox w/battery. Currenly i own : Sony MZ-R 900 Net-md walkman and Sanyo orange boombox w/battery I havent jumped on the Hi-md train yet simple because i have no need for it. I love having 4-5 Design blanks always in my pocket and i cant do that with Hi-md. I like to say a couple of things about the "Possibility" that Sony Kills Minidisc: 1. Sony should never have gone Hi-md, People that was using Md was mostly using it recording 1 album on the disc, i dont see the problem having 3-4 disc in the pocket they are smale. Going 1GB hi-md was a Mistake (atleast it shoud have been 10GB) Being a collector i see a problem using all 1GB capacity on a disc since i like to use many design blanks. 2. Sony should completely depart from Sony music so that there is no conflict in copyright limitations. copyright limitation is whats killing the minidisc slowly. If Some legal laws force Apple and other mp3 players brand to "BLOCK" copyrighted mp3 to be downloaded to their HDD players , People will start mass-using Minidisc and i will ROFL Minidisc will never be tuched by such problem except the limitation it already have which i never found a problem with. (until Minidisc get very popular thats it) There is no need in using Copyright laws MOST people DONT want it they want download music FREE , and the rest want to pay for it download it Why dont give people what they want, is no use forcing law on people. Conclusion: People will always atempt download music for free as often they drink a coke can. 3. The way i started to listen to music was always "ON-THE-MOVE" so portables players was always part of my music life since i was born. Since i loved the many Variation of Audiotape design i got into Blanks Audiocassette collection in 80s-90s When Tape slowly died in 1998 i moved over to MINIDISC and started collect blanks. MAN, do you know how many cool Minidisc blanks media exist today , is amazing have a look at this other minidisc media collector web (i have most blanks displayed there): MINIDISC BLANKS GALLERY I have All my shelfs and table FULL of Minidisc, Minidisc Freaking everywhere. I-LUV-MINIDISC. But now i am WORRIED part of my HOBBY is the EXCITEMENT when a Brand release new Minidisc blanks , and i Rush to buy them. If Minidisc DIES (Because Sony Killing Minidisc) Then part of my Hobby Dies . Althrough i still can get Rare OLD MD blanks that i havent got before from Md-traders is still not the same since you know nothing NEW is comming. and Part of the Exciting life of Collecting things is knowing something NEW will be released in the future. In the past i could always use another format for example when Tapes died i had choice of : Cd-s(for my discman) or get into Minidisc. But this time there is NO alternative for Minidisc , the only thing that exist is HDD mp3 players. MAN! i am not a Millionaire i cant Collect Mp3-players, And i want my hobby to have products that i can cheaply collect from companies like SONY,TDK , FUJI etc.... CDs have NEVER EVER been a option for me i DONT like Cd havent buy a CD since 1998 when i got into Minidisc, is all MP3 or Minidisc and thats how i want my life to be. Collecting Cd is not a big option since there is not so much RARE design avaible. Flashcards ? i dont realy like them either EXCEPT for Computer and CAMERAS (non-collection) purpose. Maybe i could like Flashcards if they was Bigger , more collection design avaible , if they was cheaper and more Mp3-players used flashcards. But for now This is NOT a fact. The only thing i though about is USB-sticks (pen drives) but they are today EXPENSIVE and only-computer. UMD discs is another possibility (the best actually) but still it will take a WHILE until recordable UMD become avaible , if they ever do. So if Sony go NUTS and decide KILL minidisc I am left with This choices so far: A- Move from Minidisc to MP3 players and start collecting those ugly Smale flashcards (i dont like this) B- Continue using Minidisc and just be HAPPY for all the Rare old Classic blanks i find from traders and ebay For now i pick "B" , my only solution is continue using minidisc until something else i can collect become avaible with CUTE designs. 4. MY NEXT PLAYER?: I don mind having a iPOD but ONLY as a EXTRA to MINIDISC my next players will probaly be HI-MD but i DONT realy need hi-md i only want 1 album on each disc. The only GOOD thing i see with HI-MD is when you have to record DOUBLE-CD-ALBUMS then it wont fit on the minidisc, or when is a LONG album and i have to cut out some songs on 80 min. HI-MD will solve this for me. But i need to COLLECT design blanks, so i will need a MUCH bigger inventory of Colored Hi-md blanks of whats currently avaible. Still i think i will get a Hi-md in 2006 instead of Net-md so i can use some Hi-md for those LONG ALBUMS. but for the rest i will use 74/80 min Minidisc Blanks anyway. in 2006 i will also buy a MINIDISC-DECK again from SONY (they have the best decks). i want to remplace my SONY CD/Cass Sensor HI-FI to a SONY HI-MD Hifi (or Netmd hifi) Now if SONY kills Minidisc they WONT stop me using minidisc they will just make it DIFICULT for me . and it may happen i go for other brand this time such as KENWOOD or SHARP instead of Sony. 5. START MINIDISC REVOLUTION : I am quite Excited about my Minidisc blanks hobby having my room shelfs full of exiting design blanks I am hoping to get Kenwood and Technics blanks (i may have a chance to get Technics blanks soon, but the kenwood although they exist is too rare to get) PEOPLE WE CANT SIT AND WATCH SONY KILL MINIDISC (If that is what Mr.stinger is planning, then he should think again) My suggestion is : PHONE SONY JAPAN (no point in phoning sony europe or sony usa) Ask them to pass you to someone regarding MINIDISC that can speak ENGLISH TELL THEM OVER THE PHONE YOU WANT TO SUGEST MINIDISC TO CONTINUE (Yea Sony staff reading this will dont like it , but hey to get a revolution we must listen to our hearts) Instead of Spamming Sony with Emails (where most mail wont reach through) I suggest EACH of US CALL SONY JAPAN . I tell you if SONY JAPAN get over 10.000 phonecalls regarding Minidisc a day they will CHANGE idea (yes they will trust me) If WE can afford buying minidisc we CAN afford Phoning all the way to japan you can just say a short word like "Hey can you transfer me to someone SPEAK ENGLISH about MINIDISC" then when you get through and KNOW the person solve Minidisc-situations you can just say "I LOVE MINIDISC ,PLEASE SONY DONT KILL MINIDISC" Then you can give SONY the webadress to This forum but probaly after 20 calls Sony will say "Ehem Minidisc Dude we already have this web adress" But, Now imagine HEADLINES in New york times "SONY RECIVE 20.000 PHONECALLS ASKING THEM NOT TO KILL MINIDISC" Sony will Change mind. an Online petition is also good idea. hey you belive Sony wont listen? read this: Back in the midth 90s when i was still collecting Audiotapes SONY released a tape Called "SUPER METAL MASTER" in japan this tape had a ALUMINIUM CASE and a tape made of ceramic. I Phoned SONY Europe and Suggested they brough this tape to europe. and SURPRISE some months later it was in the EUROPEAN catalog more SURPRISE the tape had the JAPANESEE characters on it (NONE Tape in europe have japanesee words on them) So Basicly SONY listened to this ONE custumber they IMPORTED this tape from Japan and started production of it in Europe Sony super metal master was in production from 1994-2000 almost 6 years (for a High price ofcourse). SO, SONY do listen. MY SUGESTION TO SONY: =================== - Split Sony Music from Sony electronics so that you dont have to worry about copyright on minidisc . - Focus on BOTH Net-md and SOME Hi-md with Photocamera buildt in. - open UP so other brands also can produce Hi-md (for now only Sony and Onkyo make hi-md) - STOP releasing Hifi with Casettedecks remplace that with hifi with MINIDISC buildt in & make it GLOBAL. - FOCUS on releasing more DESIGN blanks and make it avaible for Europe and usa too not only USA (Example Release Bianca 2 blanks in Europe and usa not only Japan) - Get DOWN the prices on Minidisc walkmans but AVOID lowering the Quality . - RELEASE translucent iMAC looking HI-MD walkmans and ADVERTISE it EVERYWHERE. - QUIT sonicstage and release good software Drag-and-drop. but with quality as MINIDISC is known for. - FOCUS MORE ON EUROPEAN AND AMERICAN MARKED THIS TIME INSTEAD OF ONLY JAPAN ok THATS all Lets hope the best and finaly a Word for TAIYO YUDEN company : RELEASE MINIDISC BLANKS .
