Hello, One big question: Is the sony MZ-NH1 a quickcharger ?? what i mean: From status ALMOST EMPTY to completely charged in less than 16 minutes ??? I am a bit irritated, because for my opinion, my chargeable battery can't be full in that short period.

but what about the maker of minidisc, sony itselve ? Isn't sony somehow like apple, too ??? I mean, look at the new PS3.... Faster, bigger, greater.....a must have..... the PS2 -> old coffee, garbage.... even the old games (for me still interesting) should be put into the wastpaper basket. (the affordable version of the ps3 is comming along with no ps2 emulation) Or maybe sony keeps nature conservation in mind, thus you are forced to keep your old PS2 at home, in order to play your games (Not able to throw the old PS2 into the garbage)) ?? *ironic* I love Mini-Disk and will keep it as long as possible, but from the inventor, sony itself, the MD has been chosen to be e-waste. No dedicated service, or development anymore ! hopefully, sony will not invent something like an "i-walkman" or a "Walk-pod", only to get more money out of our wallets. PS: i am still a SonyFreak

nobody can tell me, that those loudness junkies out there are able to here even the different between 64 and 356kbit... What i mean: for my opinion, round about 80% of all mobile audioplayers are driving substandard earbuds. With 16 ohm or less, they are compensating the insufficient output power of most european audioplayers. So: Loudness: Great Soundquality:Weak so with good headphones and musik at 128kbit, you will always get a better sound than with 16 Ohm junk at 356kbit

Gratulation: Interesting to hear about it. What about the MZ-NH1 ? is it also a third generation device ?? A status to die for Maybe next year i will spend some money in new gear.... for now i have to save money for the tenancy changeover.

For me, at this moment it's the good old ATRAC-SP, without any high or low.... because: I will have a car MD-radio in a few weeks (yeaaah !!) , and i have a non HI-MD hifi-deck too so i can play the tapes where ever i want. For my "Walk to work MDs" , I will use HI-SP.... realy good sound and high capacity. for classic i use uncompressed HI-MD.

The problem is: Speed , speed, speed..... and again: SPEED..... Sony tried, as i know, 2 times to place a starage MD drive on the market 1. Sony MD Data MDH-10 2. DS-HMD1 For my opinion, the main problem is based on the factor speed, especial seekspeed. Ever tried to backup your hompage-data via MD ? NO ? BUT ME ! I thought my MZ-NH 1 would be ready to explode. After writing a file, the drive drove back to the beginning of the disc (where the TOC lies ??) and back again, just to write the next file..... And that for EACH damned file !!! After 3 minutes or so ( I thought , the write head would come out, saying "hello"...), i canceled the procedure and put everything into a ZIP file. with only one file, the backup up was quit good. and much, much faster !!! So for daily use, its too slow because of seektime and the writing mechanism. If the TOC would be written completely before writing each file, then write speed would be increases enormous, but i don't know what would happen with the data integrity than. Minidisk is a small child of the magneto-optical technique, which is allready the "old bear" of data storage !! Sony RMO-S561 9.1GB 5¼" MO External The "big ones" use more intelligent controllers to write the data (SCSI-Controller), the laser systems are more powerful, the spinspeed is higher. Maybe it would be possible, to "compress" the Data-Storage technique into MD-Sice, but for what price ??? and what kind of data-integrity...?? Here is the the newest Minidisk-like Storage Solution: Fujitsu MCR3230AP 3,5" Build in Drive. (already popular IDE technique) Not available anymore. Why? I don't know !!?? Maybe because auf the write speed ?? I made a backup of my 50 GB Audio files today to an external DVD burner -> 8 Speed... >10MB/s.... Much faster than MO does on; Mediaprice->peanuts.... For my opinion, the dead of beautiful things such as MD and MO-Drives came with making the CD-R and co. popular. every notebook needs a CD drive. With a burner instead of only the drive, you are already prepaired to make backups and don't need a second drive (Like MD....) Change the CD burner into an DVD-RAM burner, you will have nearly the same comfort, as writing data to an MO-Drive. (A DVD-RAM has an error correction, as MO drives does, too; it writes around "bad sectors") PS: ever used Mini-CDRs ?? they are cuddly, aren't they ??

Hello.... I am the guy with the earproblem. I am searching for a headphone (mobile), that sounds good, for my needs !!! The Playerunit -> Sony MZ-NH 1 (European Version) I tried a Koss Porta Pro -> The Bass is... mmmmh... to dominant up into the mids, sounds strange I tried a PX 200 -> The Highs are somehow to present I also was able to listen to a shure SE530. Maybe i was wearing the shures in the wrong position, but they sound somehow strange. i can't explain correct, but somthing is missing in the sound. maybe the mids ??? i am not shure ...... My one and only headphone is the beyerdynamic DT 880pro . (The "metalhead" version)The best affordable piece of music genearator, available !! These earphones as reference, i wasn't able to find anything comparable as a mobile version. The beyerdynamic is a 250 Ohm headphone, which "sucks the life out of my Sony". It depends on the music but the sony is nearly always at his limits (at 28-30), equilizer set to flat to get the most out of the amplifier (you don't need to equilize at all, the sound is perfect ). if i want to listen to classic (eg. Gustav Holst->The planets) ,i can hear it only at home, but not outside, because it's to noisy eg. in the train. the DT 880 is an half open system, so you hear more noise unlike wearing earbuds. I have seen a 32 Ohm Version of th DT 880 in the net, but not at beyerdynamics hompage itself. so i am not shure about its soundbehavoir and power needs at all. I am near to buy a mobile amplifier from meier audio, the CORDA HEADSIX in order to make the DT 880 it a bit "noisier"..... But the best sulution would by small mobile Headphone, wich sounds a little bit like my DT 880. I need your tips !!

The problem is: in Russia, it's legal to download from the side. But the company (its Allofmp3) has only the rights to sell it in russia. But the german law is a little bit obscure. that means, for me as a private person, it is not alowed to download from the side, because it has no German Licence.... would I live in Switzerland, i would have no problems, because in Switzerland its allowed, to download such files from the internet, if it is for private purpose. There are the same law problems in Germany for making copys of your own CDs for private purpose or for making gifts to your friends -> its definitely NOT allowed to make ANY copy for private use, but it's definitely NOT avenged But it's not allowed AND will be AVANGED, trying to cheat or remove any kind of copy protection in order to get the copy !!! So you will go "to jail" not for the copy, you will go "to jail" because of cheating or removing the protection mechanism..... crazy law !!! So for now, i will NOT download it.....

For my opinion, apple is not willing to build a product, that will last for ages !! Best evidence: No changeable accumulator , even in the verry expensive I-Phone mobile phone. That's a reason for me to stay at MiniDisk !!!!

Hi, I am really sad, because i lost my venyl-record : Art of Noise - Instruments of Darkness (The Fon Mixes) It has vanished into the air at one of my former relocation some years ago !! It's a damm good pice of a mix-Album and it's not available in germany anymore.... Does anybody own this album or know where i will get the music ?

* looking around....nobody listening ?* I like Jeanette....Puh....its out... Yes I like here songs. The last album (think it is the last one) sounds a little bit like Roxette....really good all in all , i got 4 Albums, some of them as christmas gifts, but all in all, suitable and nice.

I wanted to Create Maxi-Disks. They contain nearly always the album Version, too. Creating Playlists is not the same, because the remixes files would be kept as an incomplete album. After changing the position of my imported files, i had to select the path for some files in SonicStation manual. (doubleclick to play->file not found ->select file on HDD) For one of these songs i selected the wrong file on the HDD (The song above ) after thinking a minute, i got the idea: I renamed the "wrong song", so SonicStage again wasn't able to find the file, and i was able to reselect the now right one. after that, I renamed the "wrong song" to its former state. This efect above i used know to get my maxi worked. 1. I made a copy of the song, i wanted to be added in my maxi-album. 2. Imported it standard. 3. Put it into the Maxi-Album 4. Renamed the Song copy 5. tryed to play.... 6. Error message: File not found 7. Selected the original soundfile 8. deleted the renamed copy it works fine..... But now an other question: Will there be some kind of problems caused with the database ??? can it be currupted ??? Normaly not....because all downloaded Songs via connect store do the same....standing at two positions inside the database.....
