  1. Ok so it looks like il be recording in hi-sp from now on.Thanks to everyone who has given tips and advice since ive been on this site.Problem is i dont have any gigs to go to until next month.
  2. Thanks for all the help, all i need to do now is getting used to using the sonic stage software.
  3. Thanks,im trying to understand all this and hopefully get round to making better recordings.Ive made loads of recordings all in lp2 mode.So if i record in hi-md mode( on a standard 80 min disc) that will be better than what ive been doing. As long as it can record for 2 hours then thats fine.
  4. It says in the manual its best to record in lp2 or hi-sp mode for best results.I might try hi-sp next time and see if i can notice any difference( although i dont know if my ears are good enough) in quality.Im going to be recording a couple of tribute bands soon,so that will be a good oppotunity. At the moment im uploading my recordings to my pc by connecting my md to pc via line in on my pc.I save it with an audio/editing program and save as wav.
  5. Thanks i didnt mean to create the same thread twice. It was an accident, maybe i thought it hadnt posted and clicked again, hence the double post. Thanks for your reply anyway, greatly appreciated.
  6. I use a sont mz-nh700 mini disc witha sony ecm-719 mic for my live recordings. When i set up the recording mode,i always have it set in lp2 mode. What i dont know is what format is this recording in,when it set to lp2 mode. Most gigs that i record are about 2 hours long which is why i use lp2 so there is no need to change discs.
  7. I currently use the sony ecm-719 mic for my concert recordings.Although they may not be the best mic to pick up the bass, ive captured some decent recording with it.Just wondered if anyone else on here uses it and what they think of it,as they seem very popular with concert recorders. This is my first post on here and i really like this site, its full of info and general help.
  8. I like this recording very much,as every stand up show ive tried to record sounds too quiet and distant.I will be recording a poet myself in june, and will be only a few feet from the stage.Do you know what your rec levels were set at for this show.Good work on this recording.
