phish
I'm wondering I post again the same topic. I searched, I couldn't find exact topic I post. What are the differences between Japanese and USA MZ-NH1? I know the bundled software is different, Japanese and US Eng. US MZ-NH1 can show and write Japanese characters? What else do you know? US version is $300ish and Japanese is still far higher, $450ish. I'm considering buying US version. However I would like to know the differences. Thanks. phish
Maybe USA version and Japanese version have the same MSRP but real market prices in the Unites States are different. Here's the difference. SONY MZ-NH1 Japanese Domestic Version The second price is the shipping charge to USA www.japan-direct.com $471 + $41.94 = $512.94 www.audiocubes.com $479 + $15 = $494.00 www.t-station.net (from Hyper Jack, Japan) $459 + $24 = $483 SONY MZ-NH1 USA Version The second price is the US domestic shipping charge www.computers4sure.com $315.95 + $ free shipping - $20 off = $295.95 www.compuplus.com $299 + $14.95 = $313.95 Oops! Computers4sure doesn't have stock now. Yesterday there were 19 units in stock.
me
www.yodobashi.com will sell you one (in japan) for 39,000 yen. It's $400, but your dollar sucks. Audiocubes are always more expensive, probably 'cause they're a smaller retailer.
phish
me, thanks for your input. BTW , I'm in the United States and have no chance to trip to Japan. Yodobashi and most Japanese retailers don't ship to US. I know several vendors to sell MZ-NH1 as 31,800 yen-it's lower than Yodobashi's. 31,800 yen = US$310. See it at http://esearch.rakuten.co.jp/rms/sd/esearc...item=mz-nh1&x=
me
Yeah. Yodobashi etc tend to hover around the suggested retail. I suppose you could try Yahoo auctions japan and pretend you're an anime nerd and visit one of those sites that bid on behalf, but I wouldn't know what they charge. Best to get the US version, unless you desperately want the katakana (is it the same with himd?) then the US one is better for you (warranty, SS in english, the ja version one don't like english computers). I have MZNH1 japanese model that I use on 3 different "Aussie" PC's (all crappy ones) and never had any trouble with it. SS is crap piece of software ,regardless of localisation  If price/warranty are not the issue, I'd go for japanese version (gold) just for novelity sake. Cheers
