mrsoul
Here's another show I recorded this weekend in Charleston, SC of Umphrey's McGee with my Audio Technica AT822 straight into the line in on my NH900 with the bass rolloff active. Sounds really good in my opinion. I still recommend to Hi-MD recorders to make tracks on the MD before uploading, the system failure only rears its head when I try to upload 1 large track. When I make track marks, I have not had any problems. Another great Hi-MD recording... http://www.archive.org/audio/etree-details...db.php?id=20349
mgdimo
Nice... Listening right now. I hope to capture my own band some day with my equipment (listed below) like you got Umphrey's McGee. Any suggestions for me? In your opinion, mrsoul, does your recording accurately capture the dynamic range of the setting as if you are still there? I dunno, what I'm listening to doesn't strike me as sounding as "raw" as if I were there. I wonder if the highs are as crackling as they may have been live. Quite possibly, it's my crappy desktop speakers. So no offense. But your thoughts anyway... No distortion here for sure. Thank you for the track mark suggestion when uploading to Sonic Stage. Have you always had good luck with your NH900 and SS? I've been reading some horror stories around here, and I'm hesitant to upload my first Gb disc. But that's a topic for another forum I suppose. Finally, I'm really digging Umphrey's McGee. I can identify with a lot of what I'm hearing so far. So now, I shamelessly plug my own progressive rock band, IZZ. Link to website in my sig. Thanks for the info, and nice job. GREG
Christopher
HOLY CRAP, this is so weird. My friend just called me from a UMG concert tonight and said he roadied to one in Charleston beforehand [this concert!]! He kept telling me that I need to check out this band. I now have the chance to get to know this awesome band and experience what my friend did as well! You totally rock, mrsoul - please don't ever leave this community. This is totally weird shit.
