Initiation is complete... had it only one week, and I've already dropped my new hi-MD player on the floor... CONCRETE with only THIN carpeting (basement). Thing bounced a few times, it was all in shocking slow-motion.

Still works... no little pieces fell out or any strange sounds of moving parts inside. Slight scuff on metal cover now... it's officially mine  "broken in". Shared this because this was a key concern of mine when I was debating buying this. I know I'm clumsy, and I was so concerned about breaking my unit.

I dropped my NH1 this week too. The coiled headphone cord dragged it off my desk and onto the floor. Still works. I also demo'd MD media durability by throwing one into the wall. HARD. Put the metal piece back on and pop it in, plays fine =) Usually gets a few "Hmm that's durable" from the crowd.

Weird  my boss dropped mine, slow motion job as well , unfortunatley there was a chair leg between it and the floor, small dent on bottom corner edge , hardly noticable and no problems with it after.

haha and you cant reall call him an (insert bad adjective) with him being your boss and all can you? that sucks. i hope he at least gave u a bonus

Back when it was still among the functioning, I dropped my R900 more times than I can count. One drop was from sixteen feet in the air on a high second floor deck. Hit the ground below (grass). No damage, no problems.

I haven't dropped my new pink iPod Mini yet, but I'm sure I will eventually. From what I've heard, however, the iPod Mini is a very tough little unit. So I am not nearly as worried as I was with, say, my DS8 or the N10 I had.

After 3 days of having my new NH900, I can admit that I haven't yet dropped the thing. I have been *extremely* careful with it. wink.gif It's good to know that it seems that it could handle a drop if it came down to one.

While I've been out and about I've actually been keeping it in my pocket/bag/etc. and controlling it completely from the remote, so far.

I still remember a couple years ago the day I got my N707 it took a very nasty spill down a loong set of concrete stairs, finally slamming into a brick wall at the bottom. o_0 The battery came out during the fall, and the disc flew out, but I can honestly say that the unit still works fine to this day. And i think it may have helped in some way because I am probably the only one I know that hasn't lost any of the screws from the face of the N707. smile.gif Since that first drop, I couldn't count with two hands how many times it has fallen, been kicked, left out in the rain/snow, stepped on, etc.

I am very excited about the NH900, I still haven't used it enough to utilize all of the features and such, but so far I am in Hi-MD heaven.
