1kyle
What a Bummer the Sonic Stage is -- I created a MD via Simple Burn. I NEVER uploaded any tracks to the computer. I was installing some other (totally unrelated to MD or Music) software which didn't work on my Windows XP system. So to get rid of the software I decided to restore my System via Ghost / Drive Image --similar programs which simply restore an entire partition image --excellent for recovery --saves re-installing Windows etc. Now I get the message when trying to copy the MD to my computer with Sonic Stage --- Can't transfer --SELECTED DATA COMES FROM A DIFFERENT COMPUTER ---- BUT IT DOESN'T GRH!!! GRH!!!! GRH!!! Can any one tell me what's going on here -- who designed this absolute piece of dog poo software --I'm sure I haven't done anything wrong or illegal. The only way I've half way got round the problem is to mount a "Virtual CD" -- extract the WAV and then mess around with Nero so I can re-record again on to a MD. What a complete bummer --as the 1GB minidiscs are really great. Why can't we upload OUR OWN MUSIC to a computer without having to make a "Virtual CD" first. Thanks everybody. atrain
the omg/oma files are drm with encryption that is installation specific. i guess that's a good reason to use the provided sonicstage backuptool occasionally. i've never had the problem you mention as i keep all files apart from SS, only importing when needed. i guess i'm just not a jukebox kinda guy
Ryzir
I'm trying to do a workaround for this problem so you don't have to have two files of the same thing (active & backup). I', going to try to use connect to "activate" my computer and see if this will let me import files that have previously be activated using my account. I'm not too hopeful about this though. I was going to do it this weekend but the connect server hasn't been working.
phish
I have similar problem. I used Simple Burner to make HiMD HiSP mode and then tried to transfer the song from HiMD to hard drive with SonicStage. I have the exact same error message, "The selected tracks originated from another computer" Of course I have only one pc and I've used the one system to do. My OS is Windows XP SP1. SonicStage is 2.3 and Simple Burner is 2.0. What's wrong? Another problem is I can't get transferred file from HiMD. I transferred a song from CD to HiMD (HiSP) with SonicStage (SS) 2.3 and tried to copy the song from HiMD to hard drive (My Library) with SS 2.3. After I hit transfer button, the song has gone from the HiMD and also not shown on My Library. Where is it?
Qwakrz
Phish, SB & SS recordings are marked as ones from the USB socket, USB recordings are not meant to be copied back (Sony DRM stuff) and you will not be able to do what you want. If they originated from line / optical in then it would be ok Your 2nd point is the same reason. Sony will not let you copy back any audio that was recorded by USB, it expects the original to still be available on the PC and as such deletes the file from the Hi-MD without transfering it.
