justin_barbier
I've updated (correctly) from 1.5 to 2.1, then to 2.2, and now to 2.3, but Sonicstage STILL locks up my p4 2.0 ghz laptop with 256 mb memory. I know my machine isn't the fastest, but I do not run any other progs while using Sonicstage (except for trillian and my cable connection.) I do NOT think it should STILL be this bad after soooo many updates and releases. Are there any fixes available? This is aggravating! The Sonicstage software isn't the best, however if it would at least RUN smoothly i'd be happy.... lol Anyone else having similar probs? Christopher
If you're using Windows XP, are you using Service Pack 2? Have you made sure your virus and spyware free according to my directions?
justin_barbier
If you're using Windows XP, are you using Service Pack 2? Have you made sure your virus and spyware free according to my directions? yep! :wacky: I'm virus , spyware, adware free with the most current Windoze updates. Most of my problems occur when doing "simple" tasks such as renaming a file for easier navigation on my player. Today, Sonicstage 2.3 failed on me 5 times. I reinstalled to no avail. This is getting strange all of a sudden. I was just wondering if anyone else was having such disastrous results!? lol
Christopher
No, absolutely not. It runs fantastic on my computer.

zerodB
It's odd. SonicStage seems to run fine on some computers. It works well on mine. On the occasions when it did run into trouble after some re-installs and updates, I just did a complete uninstall, deleted the SonicStage keys in my registry and re-installed as per the stickied instructions in this forum. But why, time after time again do we hear users with continued problems? Is it something with the software itself? Or is the OpenMG subsystem?Hmmm.....
daremo
I know on mine OpenMG crashes if I try to do anything else while it starts reading a CD. Once its a couple percent into the process I can switch back to the web browser, but if I touch anything else before that CRASH....
Michael1980
After updating to SP2 SS2.3 just stopped converting tracks to atrac (format not supported). Had to reinstall it, after that no problems whatsoever.

m.d.u.s.e.r.
Are there any software alternatives to Sonic Stage for transferring to and from MD?
Ishiyoshi
It's bizarre to read that many of you still encounter varying problems when utilizing SonicStage. I personally only have encountered two problems thus far and they were insignificant when you apply the appropriate measure - the "Omgjbox.exe" issue and some unofficial codec causing audio playback problem.I suspect that most of the problems that you guys encountered were not simply because SonicStage is sub par software but the root may reside with your system and the utilities/software you utilized daily. This statement does not imply that SonicStage 2.3 is stable or great; but it does come a long way from version 1.5.

I haven't touched my Minidisc in 3 months because of this.←Is this the first time SonicStage 2.3 did not connect with CDDB? Do ensure that your firewall is set up accordingly to allow this connection. In addition, ensure that you have register with CDDB. If all fails, try resetting your router [assuming you are using broadband/DSL] and reboot. Good luck.
