New S730

Question

Sony releases the next Walkman..........................apart from the noise cancelling feature in the S series there is NOTHING here.

Where are the 32GB players??

I am STILL maxed out at 8GB because frankly the A829 ( and now the new series) are simply not worth the upgrade to 16Gb.

BTW 'senseme' is hardly a reason to upgrade......................32Gb and I'm in, otherwise there is nothing in this announcement.

Well Anthony I am on your side, I was hoping for more and got less than what I expected from sony. 32 gb is a must now, too many other competitors have 32 gigs, and with sdhc cards dropping in prices and creative easily taking those, well 16 gigs just doesn't cut it anymore. <_<

sure the wmv support is welcomed, but where is divx? the other brands support it, and I am now leaning towards the new cowon s9 as my next mp3 player, unless sony delivers something else?

Second, no widescreen in the new players, just seems like a rehatch of the older A800s with new bodies and front, perhaps sony ordered too many 2 inch LCDs :P and now needs to move them all.

As for the new players being the thinnest models from the walkman brand, who cares when the players look like cell phones :blink: if I wanted a sony ericsson walkman cell, I would have bought one long ago.

I agree, the sense me is not something I need, I will choose the music I want to listen to, and not some gimmick. I have no need for noise cancelling unless I am flying and even so my in ear headphones are good enough to isolate sound.

If there is another else coming, be it one more unit, or others, sony better step up their game, because they are no where near the front when it comes to innovation in the mp3/dap player field.

Good point about the memory cards.

Given that I have Sony Memory sticks for my camera it would be useful to use them as extra memory in a Walkman. I don't see why they don't allow for this feature given that they can generate some revenue from the cards. Lot's of other manufacturers have this and are unlikely to profit from the media as they don't have any license revenue from the card format. Actually my first Walkman ( NW-MS7) was a memory stick player but the capacity was paltry.

I don't care how they allow me to increase memory capacity so long as I can.
