A while ago someone asked me why I was still here.

Good question. I don't need to be here, especially since I'm not an avid supporter or a user of MD.

I'm tired of recommending things that obviously will fit a user's best needs and then getting crapped on for it, and then getting crapped on again for defending my position. Unfortunately it seems that you folks want to have your cake and eat it too. Doesn't work that way; when I say what I do about HDAPs vs. MD, I'm not trying to be a bitch. I'm trying to help people get something that will most likely fill their needs best.

Unfortunately, everyone seems to think I'm here primarly to bash MD and fangirl the iPod. Sheesh. I don't give a rat's behind about Apple or the iPod. I care that my iPod does what I want in a portable music player, period. If something better comes along, I'll most likely get that. If Sony or Sharp would make MD do what I want in a portable music player, then hey, I'd buy another MD unit. But so far they haven't; so far the only company that's made a player that will do what I want is Apple.

So, right, I've heard the not-so-subtle hints dropped by many on this board. It seems like anyone who has issues with MD as a format isn't welcome here and I get sick of being the object of scorn for trying to help people.

See ya later, although I really won't.

Where would MD get without any criticism? I still feel that the convenience of the write speeds and capacity put the HDD ahead of the MD. However HiMD is gradually turning the MD into a flash player with cheap media. Since you can put so much music on a HiMD, and now it seems the interface of the HD3 has been copied (search button on RH10, plus the screen icons imply), it's really become a good player. I just hope sonicstage 3.0 is a good improvement in regards to music sorting. The transferring is alright now, I think.

The major issues now are just write speed and capacity (although I just said you can put a lot of music in a gigabyte, if you could use 2-4GB discs then it's major competition for flash based and micro hard drive based walkmen such as ipod minis and zen micros.

Now get the hell off this board, ipod zealot. (we still love you) tongue.gif

I think this post was made for attention amongst other things.

My intent for this board is 110% the opposite of what Cori is describing. I have no qualms with non-MD product recommendations, non-MD talk, or anything else related. Whilst I understand that we do get carried away sometimes, you've truly become transparent with this one, Cori - or completely overrun by self-deception [which wouldn't be surprising as you've posted this at 2:17 am]. I have no need to babysit this topic as it's resulting content will probably be no different than the mere things that inspired this malady in the first place.

I was pretty upset earlier, and the tone of my last post may have reflected that. I apologize, but it's not every day you see this kind of topic, and if you consider the work I've put into this place you can understand how it may have hurt me.

I needed to come back to this statement, as it's been in the back of my mind most of the day.

To each and every one of you who read this - let it be known that from this day forward, there is to be absolutely no hostility permitted in discussions that are critical of Minidisc as a format. If there is, the post will be deleted. If it continues, punishment will occur. In the future, please private message me before making such outlandish statements that can hurt the integrity of the forum [very immature, imho].

It was never my intent to create a discussion forum where people feel as Cori do, despite their situations in real life that may be clouding their thoughts.
