0 rockphantom
Very cool!!Will we see D-NE930 & D-NE30??I am on the verge of making an (EXPENSIVE) iPod jump, hopefully Sony can keep me on their side with a new line of quality PCDPs!!Hope that the 2006 line are of better build quality than my D-NE920 which inexplicably died on Monday. Thanks for the info Pata!Milan Edited October 13, 2005 by rockphantom
0 Christopher
Very nice find, pata!! The NE-830 looks absolutely stunning in that dark blue color, especially with the brushed metal finish. It's very strange to see MP3 predominantly labeled with ATRAC in smaller letters. 0 Embio
So Kurisu, will we see a D-NE930 and D-NE30 do you think? You seem to be the guy with the insider info.
0 Sonydiscman
WOW, I really love that black D-NE730 !I dont really like the look of that D-NE830, especially just I dont like brushed finishes, cause to me it looks like its damaged, just my opinion though, something personal I guess
0 pata2001
IMO, brushed metal is more durable. Shiny/glossy surfaces get scratches/fingerprints easily.

Would tend to agree, my older D-EJ925 has a non glossy finish and it has held up rather amazing these years, same for the MD I own.Edit, damn I just noticed the AD adapter specs, why didn't sony include that in my MZ-N10. 0 Damage
Hmmm, other than returning to the puck stylings of past PCDPs, nothing new added on. I suppose I'll skip this generation. Unless, and this is a must, the D-NE30 packs a HD Digital Amp. Otherwise, it'll be very hard to top D-NE20/920 in their features. By the looks of it, they're still sticking with MC53/55s. Shame, they would've absolutely benefitted with a remote that's similar to the 40s. That and better media handling. D-NE20 even pukes on a genuine Taiyo Yuden CDRs. Nuts. 0 adam917
Wow! Those are very nice for what I believe are their 3rd- and 4th-place models. I really wonder what the D-NE930 & D-NE30 will look like and feature...and, of course, how they will sound!
0 maxthrusters
I just bought a D-NE920 today. I like having a backlit LCD right on the unit, and the optical out feature.

0 Andrew Soebali
I just dont get it, what are the added features this model give from the third gen? In my country, Indonesia, D-NE20 still the most expensive CD Player. It even sold higher than NE-920.I saw it and touched those directly from local Sony Center, D-NE20 design is the best from all CD players shown there. I am lurking to get D-NE20, but Damage only gives this player 50 marks. What is the difference between D-NE830 and D-NE20? What is the update? Should i get this model or get D-NE20? The NE20 is still the top end, even at Sony Japan, at this point. Damage gave NE20 a bad score mainly because of its media compatibility and a buffering "bug" when playing high bitrate AtracCD. At this point in time, I would not recommend a PCDP unless it's really cheap or there are features you must have (eg. line out). Flash based MP3 players have been incerasing in capacity and decreasing in prices. Do a price comparison at your local currency to see what kind of MP3 player you can get for the same price of the D-NE20. 2GB flash players are probably cheaper now.
