Hi, I searched for this topic for a long time but couldnt find it. #

Is it possible to comvert atrac files into mp3 files so as I can burn them onto cd?

I recoreded a band live with my MZ-NH900 Hi-MD player and want to covert from MD to a music cd but I cant figure it out. SOnicstage gives me some kind of error saying that it cant copy to cd because of restrictions but the music is my recording!!

Please help

you gotta be kidding me!!

Ive been having the exact same problem as Eggy and I have to belive there is a better way to convert then that.. cause I will never be able to figure that out haha.. Its a real pain in the ass to be told that the music I recorded myself is restricted..

anyone know of an easier way to convert atrac to mp3?

thanks

Harvey

since SS3.0 there is an internal wav-converter so if you haven't already, upgrade to SS3.1... when you upload your recordings you can save them as wav, then convert to MP3 with the same encoder you use to make other MP3's (I think LAME is your best option for an MP3 encoder)

(Marcnet's tool is great and he probably inspired Sony tongue.gif but as the internal converter is quite reliable now, I'm afraid I won't be using Hi-MD renderer anymore)

Does that mean that the one copy restriction is avoided? I too have a fundemental issue with restricting content that I record. I understand the licensing and protection of someone else's content, but why make MD more restrictive than other recordings? If someone could explain the workflow on a Sony HDMD I would appreciate it...
