Nivuahc
I installed SS3 on my machine and it worked great (until this happened).I installed the "Sony MP3 Conversion Tool" and got real excited because I was ready to start putting all of those MP3's that I have ripped over the years on my new MD player. So I run the MP3 Conversion Tool and it tells meYou must have SonicStage 2.1 or better installed to run this program. Install now?Well 3.0 is better than 2.1, right? I have 3.0 installed. So, looking for something quicker and easier I installed Simple Burner 2. It works great.Of course now SS3 doesn't recognise my MD player as being connected anymore. Is this a common problem for anyone else? I did a search and couldn't find anyone else questioning this so I figured I would ask.If it matters, I'm running XP Pro SP2 and I have a MZ-NH600D
Nivuahc
Just wanted to hop in and mention that I uninstalled the MD drive via Windows Device Mangler and reinstalled it. SS 3 works now and I am currently veeeeery slooooowly transferring two audiobooks onto my MD player.Which is why I'd really like to be able to use the MP3 Conversion tool. This takes forever. Nivuahc
Surely I can't be the only person to have had this problem?
Michael1980
Sorry, I don't know the solution to this problem, but why do you need this app (mp3 conversion tool)?Just do on-the-fly encodings (when it deletes the atrac files after transfer) and that's that. atrain
there is a btch encoder that convert mp3 to atrac3+ only - so only hisp & hilp modes, no lp2its at www.connect.com

I have most all of my audio (books and music) in MP3 format already and I want to be able to batch convert them using the 'Sony MP3 Conversion Tool' that I downloaded from www.connect.comWhen I run it, it tells me that it requires Sonic Stage 2.1 or greater. I have Sonic Stage 3.0 installed. My other options:go through my storage and try to find all of the CD's againlet Sonic Stage do the conversion/uploading which can take a veeeeery looooong timeI'm trying to avoid either of those options if possible. Thanks again. The_Stamp
honestly, keep you files out of atrac3 as much as possible. They will most likely be deleted the next time you reformat anyways. that mp3 conversion tool is pointless, because if you convert your mp3s, you will have 2 files of each song to deal with. too much hassle. Do on-the-fly encoding. Saves space and time in the long run. I encode audio books overnight in ss3.0 and transfer in the morning. much faster.
