You've deinstalled and cleared the registry according to the pinned FAQ?

You've reinstalled SS 3.1 completely from the Sony online installer?

You've run ojbsir.exe from your own SonicStage folder?

You've run the MDAC repair tool from Downloads?

You've rebooted, unplugged the USB connection, opened SonicStage and then plugged in the USB connection to the NH600D?

You've unplugged any other USB devices?

Maybe it's all your A/V codecs. Try uninstalling them and then adding the latest version of what you need when you use them.

Try this fix from Sony.

Also, probably not the problem but: was the NH600D ever detected before? Can you plug something else into that USB port and make sure it's detected?

** If you are running Service Pack 2 please follow the instructions in Section 1, else go to Section 2. **

Section 1

--> Click on the [start] button and select [Run...]. In the dialog box, type explorer and click on [Ok].

--> Click on the [Tools] menu and select [Folder Options]. Click on the [View] tab.

--> In the [Advanced settings:] section select the option to [show hidden files and folders]. Click on [Apply] [Ok].

--> Go to the folder [C:\Windows\Inf].

--> Right click on either [MDAC.INF] or [MSACINST.INF], whichever file is present, and then click on [install].

--> If you are prompted for your Microsoft Windows CD, insert the Windows CD into your CD drive, click on the [browse] button and go to [C:\Windows\ServicePackFiles\I386] folder on your hard disk and click on [Open]. Click on the [Ok] button.

--> If at any time you are prompted for the Windows XP CD, click on the

[browse] button and go to either the [C:\I386] or the [C:\Windows\I386] folder on your hard disk and click on [Open]. Click on the [Ok] button.

--> Restart your computer.

--> Re-try starting SonicStage.

Section 2

--> Click on the [start] button and select [Run...]. In the dialog box type explorer and click on [Ok].

--> Click on the [Tools] menu and select [Folder Options]. Click on the [View] tab.

--> In the [Advanced settings:] section select the option to [show hidden files and folders]. Click on [Apply] [Ok].

--> Go to the folder [C:\Windows\Inf].

Hi...thanks for you help!!!....i've already tried that method before

the net MD has detected before and it creates itself a removable drive in windows as normal... is there anyway i could convert the files with another tool and then just copy them onto the drive??

nope... only SS & SB (does SimpleBurner work? then you could create CD-images of a number of tracks and import through SB)

Try disconnecting the 600D, starting sonic stage first then reconecting the 600D. The other thing would be your chipset drivers. I would make sure you have the latest. AMD chipsets can act a little strange with USB devices. I know first hand. smile.gif

i was wondering are you using the standalone installer from mdcf.. please tell what version of sonicstage you are installing ie.. us version, europe etc etc..

people have had some issues with the standalone installer with the hi md detection, me included.. i just downloaded the official sony installer and it worked fine..

The MDCF installer is only meant for people who absolutely need it in absolute offline scenarios, but even then it can fail because of other variables (operating system not up to date, directx, wmp, etc). I would never prescribe it for someone who does have an active internet connection - there's no point.

Hi there. I'm having the same trouble with the MZ-NH700. When I first installed SS2.0 it worked fine but now with the SS3.0 the MD isn't recognized. I also have a Sony MP3 and it still recognizes this unit. I'm running WindowsXP on a Pent IV. What else can be done? Thanks.
