valta
Hi, I have a big problem, I am think.Last week I tried to rip tracks from Audio CD to oma files (atrac 3+). But here was a many gaps and ticks, I assume that my cdrom drive in my notebook is not suitable for ripping. I tried to take this audio cds to my work and I have ripped them here. Sound is OK, no gaps and other bad sounds, so I have copied these files to my USB flash disk, move them to my notebook at home and tried to transfer to HiMD.It is not possible ! Is this correct ? I have bought this original cd, I am owner and I can't make oma files and transfer them onto HiMD. I like this my new MD machine (rh10), but it looks, that only way to move files from pc to pc is convert to MP3 and don't use ATRAC with better sound but useless for me.Any other ideas ? Keith
Assuming you have ripped the CDs using Sonic Stage, the only way you can move the files is by using the SS backup library and restore functions - see this thread. An alternative would be to to rip the files to wav then import into SS when you get home.Keith
The Low Volta
indeed this is not possible in any simple way...but there are some tricks to transfer libraries between computers described here on MDCF (see the link Keith provided) and otherwise you could always rip (withe exact audio copy, dbpoweramp music converter or anything alike) your CD's at work (DON'T convert them to MP3! this will result in quality loss) and convert them to a lossless format (like FLAC etc...) transfer them to your home PC, decode them to wav and import in SS... or buy a cheap external USB CD-drive for home that can read the CD's without problemsgreetings, Volta
dex Otaku
No, it's not possible to copy OMA files directly from one machine to another. The entire point of Sony's DRM is to prevent you from copying those files to another computer. Apparently there is a way to authorise up to 3 computers to use the same SS library [using SS 3.1] - as I have no use for this [i don't keep a library using OMA tracks with SS, nor do I have another computer to attempt it with] I have no idea how this is done, though. You can look in SS's help under "Device Authorization via the Music Service" for some info on this.In a pinch, what you can do is use SS's backup tool to back up an entire library and copy it to another computer. In any case, I would advise usin Simple Burner and your original CDs rather than having a library in SS. If your notebook is having difficulty ripping CDs with SS, you might try turning on the "use smoothing" option in its preferences. This basically enables error-correction and might fix the problem if you're really bent on having a library on your notebook in SS.

If a problem will still persist, I will rip all tracks to my usb hd and then encode on my notebookHave a nice day

Your OWN Digital (or analog) recordings which you've imported into your library will also work fine. I hadn't done that test when I made that original post about moving / copying libraries but have since tested that as well.Cheers-K
