The Low Volta
please read the rules for posting in this section and post your specs accordinglyalso, what model of MD are you using? only HiMD-recorders will allow uploading and only of HiMD-formats (HiSP, HiLP, PCM)

A440
Some random thoughts:Do you have a lot of other things running simultaneously on your computer? Press Ctrl/Alt/Del (just once) and shut down any programs you don't need. Unplug from the internet, turn off antivirus and firewall (don't forget to turn them back on), etc. SonicStage needs the processor power. Are you uploading through a USB port, not a USB hub? Unplug other USBs and go directly into a USB port. Has SonicStage tagged the track as uploaded? Titled it with a time/date stamp? If it has then you can't upload it again. For this disc, you'll need to use the TotalRecorder method. http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=6330 Is it a long PCM track? That's a lot of data. If it hasn't been tagged as uploaded by SonicStage, you might try breaking it into smaller tracks--push the Track button during playback at a suitable spot, like applause--and see if those are more digestible. mip
I tried with a regular MD disc and everthing worked. It must be the HI MD discs that doesn't work?
Syrius
Either the disc is dirty or scratched. I had an old Memorex disc do that to me.
alanisrox69
The internal error message means that you bumped the recorder while recording. It make a tiny gap in the audio, and SonicStage doesn't know what to do when uploading that segment so it just says error. Even if you try to play it back in SonicStage it will just stop playing when it gets to the error so you can't even make a bit for bit recording via soundcard. You can do bit for bit up until the error then you will have to switch to analog to save the rest of the recording (since the unit itself will play it back fine just with a gap during the error), unless Sony comes out with new software that fixes this issue.-Derek-
mip
OK guys thanks for the support. It still doesn't work. If I try to record anything longer then a few seconds then the error message appear again. When I listen to my recordings in my MD with headphones I notice that after around a minute (this changes) there is a silent gap for about 30 up to a min. How can I get rid of these gaps? Do I have any settings the wrong way? I have tried several diffrent discs new and old and nothing works. Can there be a faulty unit I have? Next friday is the big day of recording. I have even promised the artist a copy of the gig if it turns out ok.Maybe there is something I have missed setting up the unit for liverecording with mic. I have read the faqs.Thanks.My MD lays exactly still while recording so no bumps just so you know. Edited July 26, 2005 by mip
A440
1) Have you tried using different discs? Regular MDs instead of Hi-MDs?My MD lays exactly still while recording so no bumps just so you know.←2) Is your recorder on a table or something that's going to vibrate with the music? That could shake it. But I've done a whole lot of recording standing up at shows with the MD in my pocket and have very, very rarely had this problem. If your unit is still under warranty and you can easily get it to a Sony place, then you should try exchanging it.
