Query: Recording Levels on MD Remotes

40ELK has shown recording levels on every Hi-MD unit I have owned: NH900, RH10 and RH910.  It's the remote of choice for live recording.

Will the 40ELK allow you to 1) start recording and 2) change recording levels using the remote itself? If so then I might have to pick one up. But if you have to access the recorder itself for these features, then I might as well only rely on the screen on the recorder.

By the way, I just picked up an RH10 this week and am looking forward to stealth recording 3 concerts in the next two weeks. I'm hoping for noticeable improvements over my R910. thumbsup.gif

Start recording: No. You have to do this on the main unit.

Adjust levels: Absolutely. Jog up or down after setting the REC Level to manual will raise or lower levels.

Sorry for make this question in here , but since you are talking about the rm-mc40elk....

Is it possible (using rm-mc40elk and a mznh900) to view the songs in the disc in the remote without selecting them?. I mean like when you use the jog dial while playing a song in the mznh900 body.

thanks

Start recording : You must push the record on the main unit (that's the only missing point on this great remote), but you can then pause, and release the pause with the remote.

And yes, you can view (3-lines display) the different titles without selecting them on the nh900.

yes you can... just like the NH900 scrollwheel actually

I've just bought my RM-MC40ELK from buyfromjapan (on ebay) and spent recording a lot of concerts with it... for both listening and recording the remote is a real boon... brilliant!
