if such a single din deck excists for the love of god please tell me.

but i asume it would be double din anyway.

MD, CD, CDR, CDRW all in one, in the car would be nice, instead of having 2 seperate units of diferent brands.

i prefer sony, but it almost dont matter. i got a unit that claims to play MD's but all i can do is use it to record off the radio, the hell would i want to do that for. i want to play MD's or hi-MDs in my car, that i recorded myself using my walkman, and computer.

look at your deck specs... are you sure it isn't an SP only deck, just record an MD in SP (or fake SP through SS) and try that...

The only single din unit I've seen that does md/cd/cd-r/w is this one.

Be aware that Japanese units w/o a world band tuner cannot pull in the complete FM range in the US. Even if you purchase a converter, you have to make a choice between two separate kinds and it involves leaving out some frequencies either way.

Bisjac-

There is no car unit that plays Hi-MD's yet. My guess is there will never be one. If you need Hi-MD playback in your car, you'll have to settle with buying a car unit that has a separate line in jack for your portable.

If you want both CD and MD playback, you might want to consider a changer like I did...
