rocklegend
I was wondering if this forum could help me make a decision.I have a NetMD MZ-N510 and I´m looking to change it,hopefully convince the misses to get me a new player for Xmas.I can´t choose between 2 players the MZ-DH10P & MZ-RH10.Can anyone tell if the camera on the DH10P is some sort of a gimmick or is there any real advantage to having this on a HI-MD Player.Another question that is bugging me is that I know Sony say in all their adverts that "One can record 45 CDs on 1GB Hi-MD".Whats the sound quality like?On my NetMD I don´t even record on LP4 because it sounds terrible,I only use LP2.Is the sound quality better on the new Hi-MD units compared to my NetMD.The other problem is that all my friends have iRivers and iPods and say that I shouldn´t bother with MD because they say they´ve heard Sony are no longer developing players anymore and are going to continue with these Connect Players instead.Has there been any sort of statement as I can´t seem to find any on the Web.Personally I don´t see the point in Sony ending the MD format as they´ve invested too much money in it with these models.I really don´t want an iPod as it sounds shit....Oh the sound is awful....even with a pair of Fontopia headphones or a pair of professional studio headphones. One last question....do you think that MD is dead and will it compatible with the new Connect Software as SS3.2 is not exactly the best software out there.Guys help me please....Oh yeah I live here in Spain just so you don´t think that I´m livin´ in the states. Is there anywhere in the states that delivers in Europe because with the Exhange rate its cheaper for me to buy it over there and get it shipped over here.My English is pretty f**kin A-1..........Rock On and Viva el Minidisco
bobt
I would go with the RH10, if you want a camera, get a camera. It has been said elsewhere in the forum that Sony will continue with pro HiMD, and they have also brought out two new players, so Hi-MD is alive and well. Time will tell of connect works wit MD, but SS3.2 is very good.Good luck with your choice, and welcome
Roamer
The built-in camera is 1.3 million pixels, but i would also go for the RH-10 if i had to.To fit 45 CDs on one HiMD, you must use HiLP, which is more or less close to LP4, so if you don't like LP4, don't expect much for the quality and use HiSP instead. Richard
The built-in camera is 1.3 million pixels, but i would also go for the RH-10 if i had to.To fit 45 CDs on one HiMD, you must use HiLP, which is more or less close to LP4, so if you don't like LP4, don't expect much for the quality and use HiSP instead. To fit 45 cd's on to 1 Hi-MD I think you have to use 48Kbps which is even worse than Hi-LP (64K). I think the deciding factor between these units is whether you need full recording functionality or not. If you do then you have to go for the RH10. AMPlitude
i dont see the point to the dimunitive 1.3 megapixel camera and the bulk of the dh10 in addition to the price, so i would have to say go for the rh10
veezhun
please understand that hte dh10 is a PLAYER and the rh10 is a RECORDERwith the rh10, you can use the mic/optical/line in along with usb to record. the dh10 is a player only model with a camera. the build quality seems to be better than the rh10 but it uses a proprietary battery. the rh10 uses the standard gum stick along with the AA attachment.also, please dont be bothered with HD digital amp and Digital amp. on the move, you really must be super man to hear the difference. i have not heard the HD digital amp but surely for portable use, i dont think would make such a big difference.cheers
AMPlitude
for the price, the dh10 really just doesnt justify itself
