Need Help to solve problem (Playback OMG on PC)

Hi All,

I want to listen OMG & OMA mediafiles on my PC without installed SonicStage.

Install only ATRAC3.OCX on my PC gave not any result. Windows MediaPlayer said about unknown media format and didn't find right codec.

On Minidisc.org was written about MediaPlayer Plugin for ATRAC but that URL is dead.

Where can I find this plugin & How can I listen this files with MediaPlayer or WinAmp?

http://www.minidisc.org/atrac3.zip (linked from http://www.minidisc.org/mdlpfaq.html#_q73) can handle Atrac3 with wav headers. For omg/oma playback the header would need to be replaced. It can't handle Atrac3+ files though. Edited by greenmachine

Not exactly. The FAQ states: This audio codec was assembled from publicly available bits on the Web and hence may not represent the ATRAC3 codec Sony currently supplies with their MDLP and MemoryStick audio devices.

it was a successful experiment (prev. post)

I installled only OpenMG Secure Module, Personal Audio Driver, OMG Limited Patch on clean PC (never exists SS on that PC) and OMA works. But with OMG MediaPlayer say about unknown error (rights protected I think).

So if you have OMA track you can playback on any PC with preinstalled driver without SS.

I confused SS didn't convert from OMG to OMA format.

Yep, the same can be done if you wan't to just simply use SimpleBurner - you don't have to install SS, just the OpenMG Secure Module (and any updates) and your Net/HiMD Drivers.

If I'll be use only SimpleBurner can it playback OMG files?

I'm unsure what you're asking but you need the OpenMG Secure Module installed to playback OMG files in WMP, Media Player Classic, or other audio app

SimpleBurner does not have audio file playback...

Installed OpenMG Secure Module have playback only OMA but not OMG audo files. What's wrong?

.omg files are DRM'ed files created using sonic stage version 2.0 or earlier. You need to convert them to .oma using the conversion tool - for which you need to install Sonic Stage itself.

No!!

I've SS 3.2 now. When I start convert SS ask about add protection (checkbox on bottom dialog). If it checked SS creates OMG file (I'd a mistake).

And conversion tool of SS don't give me convert this files

Well yes and no - SS2.0 and earlier files were saved as .omg. Anyway the answer is obviously therefore not to check the copy protection and create .oma files. Otherwise re-convert the files to the same bit-rate and remove the protection.
